Peacebuilding practices start with common ground.
Giving young people the opportunity to discuss their culture, background and communities with each other has led to countless conversations about how similar their experiences are after all 🤝
Good relations is key to promoting a mutual understanding and respect that leads to friendship in the long run.

We were delighted to attend the Making a Difference Conference on International Day Of Peace this year hosted by the Community Relations Council.
It was a fantastic opportunity to spend a day among other youth and community organisations, and attend insightful Learning Labs that asked us to push outside the box to consider the future of Peacebuilding.

For many years Springboard has used Castlewellan Forest Park as a place to bring young people together — through shared camps, group activities and reflective residentials. We’ve created countless memories here. Today, on the UN International Day of Peace, we’re especially proud to be part of planting 25 new trees here, marking the 25th anniversary of the Peace Maze. 🌳🕊️

With Peace Day is approaching we're thinking about a few young people who recently took part in our Conflict Awareness and Transformation programme.
The programme brought together young people from organisations in Derry / Londonderry to explore the impact of the Holocaust and attend an international study visit to Krakow, Poland. The group were entirely committed to this learning journey, asking questions and supporting one another in their understanding throughout.
In Poland the young people visited many historical sites including Auschwitz & Schindler's Factory where they took a lot of time to reflect and connect with everything they had learned on the programme, taking in the importance of peace and good relations work.
Well done to them for taking part and achieving their OCN in Good Relations!
