A huge evening for Bournemouth hosted by one of our charity partners. The Ellis Edwards Foundation

On Thursday 24th September, former England captain Chris Robshaw and Wales & British & Irish Lions star Jamie Roberts will be heading to the Hilton Bournemouth for a very special evening of rugby stories, great food, networking and fundraising.

The event, hosted alongside Frettens Solicitors, will be raising funds for the Ellis Edwards Foundation — one of Bournemouth Rugby’s official charity partners for the 2026/27 season.

It promises to be a fantastic night for rugby supporters, local businesses and anyone looking for a brilliant corporate evening on the South Coast.

A few moments from a brilliant afternoon of rugby against US Portsmouth

A huge thank you to everyone at US Portsmouth for being such fantastic hosts. We really appreciate the welcome and everything you did for us ,a great day, a great game and exactly what a friendly should be about. 🤝

Words from captain Aaron Stevenson:

“It was a slow start for us and Portsmouth used the wind well in the first half. We had a lot of young players stepping up and, as the game went on, you could really see the group starting to gel.

We came into our shape much better in the second half, with some great set pieces and some really positive strikes from the backs. Plenty to take from the game and a really good day for the group.”

The line-up is in for tomorrow as our Nomads & Wanderers hit the road to face United Services Portsmouth Rugby away from home.

ENGLAND TOUCH SELECTIONS!

We are very proud to be able to announce some excellent news concerning our Youth Touch players after their performances at the most recent National Touch competition.

Rory and Joe have both been chosen to be in the England U18 Training Squad, and Oscar has also been chosen for the England U16 Training Squad, as part of the England Touch Youth Academy Performance Programme for 2027.

Teddy should also be congratulated on being chosen for the England Touch U16 Centre of Excellence this is an important stage on the route to joining the England Training Squad.

They are brilliant achievements and truly show the hard work that each of them has put in.

We should also give a massive thank you to all the coaches who have helped them to get as far as they have, especially Rich and James, since they provided their support with Youth Touch over the summer in order to prepare for Saxon selection.

We should also highlight our Head of Youth, Rob Emery, since he coached the Saxons at Nationals and helped the boys to show precisely what they could do during the tournament.

Well done, Rory, Oscar, Joe and Teddy – an exciting journey lies ahead!

Teeing Off For a Good Cause!

Bournemouth Rugby’s Director of Rugby Will Croker and Senior Rugby Coach Jon Sanchez proudly represented Bournemouth Rugby at Laceys Solicitors Charity Golf Day, which raised a phenomenal £1,000 for Hope for Food

To top it all off, Will ended the day as part of the winning team!

A fantastic day supporting a very important local charity, and spending time with sponsors and other members of the business community.
