“I may have a house, but the library is my home.”
For Rachel, the library is much more than books. It is a place where she feels safe, supported and free to be herself.
From joining an art group and making new friends to travelling independently, Rachel’s confidence has grown enormously since becoming a regular visitor.
Hear Rachel’s powerful story in her own words. 🎥 📚

To celebrate Book Club Day today, we are shining a spotlight on the important role our book clubs and reading groups play in our libraries across Bridgend County Borough and the many benefits they bring to readers and communities.
You can read more about their impact on our website: https://ow.ly/OLXN50ZMrFF
You'll also find the dates and times of the book clubs/reading groups across our libraries, which Awen runs in partnership with Bridgend County Borough Council. Please contact the library to check availability and join the waiting list, if they are fully booked. We are also launching Junior Reading Groups at our libraries so please get in touch if you have a child or young person who would like to join.
