We enjoy getting out and about to talk to people about hedgehogs.

Last week we went to Pentyrch Rangers. We had a lovely evening. Donations of food and cash were provided which we are very grateful for. Thank you!

Meet sweet Petal!

Petal was admitted from Church Village on 14/09, at 179g, after being found out during the daytime in the finders garden. Petal wasn't moving.

After an examination, it was very much touch and go whether Petal would make the night....she was in a collapsed state, very flat and extremely dehydrated (15%).

Our lead carers got to work immediately; popped her into an incubator to warm her up and a portion of fluids was given soon after.

Petal started coming around but still was unable to stand up. More fluids were given and finally she did it - stood up and started to eat .. it really was a miracle. She has a touch of mild ringworm to be treated in due course.

These young hoglets are so vunerable, please keep an eye out for them in the daytime and don't delay getting help.

Petal is loving her dry biscuits and progressing well. She's now a juvenile, approaching 250g. No parasite burdens found.

RELEASE: 30/08

Daisy was found out during the day on 26/06, weighing 470g. She was dehydrated, suffering from mild ringworm, had fly strike and maggots, as well as a wound beneath her chin. She was also missing her left eye.

After weeks of treatment, care and plenty of good food, Daisy more than doubled her weight! She was released weighing a wonderful 964g!

Despite everything she had endured, this remarkable girl made an incredible recovery and is now back where she belongs—wild and free.

Good luck, beautiful Daisy. Stay safe out there!

Meet Candy, Sugar and Spice!

This little family were admitted on the 14/09, after their nest was disturbed (garden in the Llanbradach area).

They had been in their nest for at least two weeks but unfortunately they were being disturbed by a dog barking so decided it was best to relocate them to a safe, quiet environment (they are in one of our outside hutches).

They are all doing well. Mum, Candy, is a whopping 1000g, Sugar is 160g and Spice 140g. (These weights were on arrival as we are hands off now until they are a bit bigger.)

RELEASE: 20/09

Remember Mary who stank of Creosote? She was disoriented on arrival due to the fumes ingested and had to be bathed a good few times to remove the substance. She's now clean and healthy smelling again!

Mary was released back to a lovely support garden, with a nest box waiting, at 930g.

Good luck Mary!
