Welsh Youth Parliament wants to know what young people in Wales think about public transport (such as buses and trains) and active travel (such as walking, cycling, and wheeling).

Your feedback will help Welsh Youth Parliament Members, including our Member Tammi, to decide what recommendations for change are made to the Welsh Government.

Mae'r adroddiad yn cyflwyno gwybodaeth o'r Cyfrifiad Chwarterol i Gleifion Mewnol Arbenigol Anabledd Dysgu. Mae'n dangos faint o drigolion Cymru ag anabledd dysgu oedd yn aros mewn ysbytai anabledd dysgu arbenigol neu iechyd meddwl yng Nghymru a Lloegr ym mis Ebrill 2026.

Mae'n cynnwys gwybodaeth am y gwahanol fathau o leoliadau ysbyty yr oedd pobl yn aros ynddynt, gan gynnwys unedau asesu a thriniaeth, ysbytai gofal parhaus, ysbytai adsefydlu dan glo ac ysbytai diogel.

Mae'r adroddiad hefyd yn edrych ar ba mor hir roedd pobl yn aros yn yr ysbyty. Mae'n dangos bod rhai pobl wedi bod yn yr ysbyty ers sawl blwyddyn, tra bod eraill yn barod i adael ond roedd yn rhaid iddynt aros. Roedd rhai pobl wedi bod yn aros am fwy na blwyddyn i adael yr ysbyty.

Drwy wneud yr adroddiad yn hawdd ei ddeall, fe wnaethom helpu Llywodraeth Cymru i rannu gwybodaeth bwysig am bobl ag anabledd dysgu mewn ysbytai mewn ffordd sy'n fwy hygyrch a defnyddiol.

Fe wnaethom hefyd fersiwn Hawdd ei Ddeall Saesneg o'r adroddiad. Mae'r ddwy fersiwn yn hygyrch yn ddigidol ac wedi'u cynllunio i weithio gyda darllenwyr sgrin a thechnolegau cynorthwyol eraill.

We are pleased to share a recent piece of work that shows how Easy Read can help make important information more accessible to people with a learning disability.

We worked with the Welsh Government to create an Easy Read version of their report about people from Wales with a learning disability receiving specialist hospital care. https://www.easyread.wales/recent-work/easy-read-patients-with-learning-disabilities-in-hospitals/

The report presents information from the Quarterly Learning Disability Specialist Inpatient Census. It shows how many Welsh residents with a learning disability were staying in specialist learning disability or mental health hospitals in Wales and England in April 2026.
It includes information about the different types of hospital settings people were staying in, including assessment and treatment units, continuing care hospitals, locked rehabilitation hospitals and secure hospitals.

The report also looks at how long people were staying in hospital. It shows that some people had been in hospital for several years, while others were ready to leave but had to wait. Some people had been waiting for more than a year to leave hospital.

By making the report Easy Read, we helped the Welsh Government share important information about people with a learning disability in hospitals in a way that’s more accessible and useful.

We also made a Welsh Easy Read version of the report. Both versions are digitally accessible and designed to work with screen readers and other assistive technologies.

Data from July 2026 is now also available to read on the NHS website.

Making information available in accessible formats can help more people understand important reports and the information they contain.

A new health and wellbeing project is being launched to help people with a learning disability in west Wales.

The Community Healthy Lifestyle Café is being co-produced with people with a learning disability and supported by Carmarthenshire People First. The cafe will offer a welcoming and accessible setting for people to learn about healthy living and gain confidence in managing their health.

The café will deliver monthly sessions over a year at the National Botanic Garden of Wales, with additional events planned in Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.

New healthy lifestyle café to support people with learning disabilities in west Wales A new health and wellbeing project is being launched in west Wales to help people with learning disabilities.

A shocking new report from Centre for Local Economies (CLES) suggests that an estimated £106 million in profit was taken from Welsh public-sector spending on learning-disability care between 2020-2024, with £44m (42%) going to providers whose parent companies are based in tax havens and/or are owned by private equity firms.

Today (Wednesday 23 September 2026), members of our team attended the online launch of the Welsh Government's Learning Disability Transformation Programme.

The programme will last for 3-years to help improve health services, social care, and housing for people with a learning disability in Wales.

It will focus on 4 areas:

1. Collecting better data about people with a learning disability,

2. Helping services work together to support people with a learning disability in their communities,

3. Making specialist hospital care and support better,

4. Improving housing and support so people with a learning disability can live safely and independently in their communities.
