Tree Squadron

An old woodsman was once asked what he’d do with five minutes to fell a tree. His answer: spend the first half sharpening the axe.

The line usually gets pinned on Abraham Lincoln. He never said it. It came from the men doing the work.

We’ve swapped the axe for a chainsaw, but the principle stands. A sharp chain cuts cleaner, works safer and leaves a better finish on the tree. A blunt one means torn cuts, tired climbers and a slower job.

Preparation isn’t the bit before the work. It is the work.

Investing in our team 🚧

Yesterday two of our team completed and passed our Signing, Lighting and Guarding training, giving Tree Squadron the in-house capability to set up basic traffic management on our roadside tree works.

What that means for our clients: safer sites, faster mobilisation and fewer delays waiting on third parties, whether it’s highway tree work, roadside hedgerows or vegetation management.

A huge thank you to John Mayer at Arc Plant & Co for a superbly delivered course: clear, practical and well worth the day. We’ll be back.

A Wednesday on the road with Tree Squadron 🌳

149 miles. 11 sites. One van.

Started in Cyncoed, worked through Heath, Lisvane and Rhiwbina, nipped down to Swansea, back up to Risca and Newport, and home before five to pick the boys up from footy. ⚽

Every quote we give starts with boots on the ground. We don’t price trees from a photo. We come out, look properly, and tell you straight what the tree needs, to BS3998 standards.

Across Wales and the South West, if you’ve got a tree that needs looking at, we’ll come to you.

Recent Reviews Roundup

Trust isn't a tagline, it's what happens after the job's done.

A few lines from recent customers this month from our google reviews — no cherry-picking the adjectives, just what people actually said:

🌳 "We always find Tree Squadron team polite and professional. They come when they say and always leave the garden absolutely spotless." — Chris

🌳 "The whole process from Phil's visit to estimate through to the cutting down of the trees was carried out in a professional, efficient way... efficiently removed the rubbish + blow dried the garden." — Damian

🌳 "Not only was the work done to a great standard but they also took time out to talk me through all my plants, their names and what they need. We are already booked back for a visit in November." — Paul

🌳 "I have been so impressed with Tree Squadron from start to finish... I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tree Squadron! A job very well done!" — Cheryl

Sectional dismantle. No margin for error.

This week the team took down a mature Sycamore at a church in Cardiff — piece by piece, under full rigging control, with zero room for a bad call.

That’s the difference between “tree work” and arboriculture done right: every cut planned, every section lowered with intent, nothing left to chance on a site with people, property and a place of worship in the drop zone.

AA Approved. BS3998 compliant. Trained to work to a standard, not just get the job done.

🌳 Tree Squadron — precision, not just power.
