GirlsGetSET

Big wins in Lagos! 🚀

At Bethesda Child Support Foundation, our GirlsGetSET volunteers and leaders joined students and teachers for an inspiring Oil & Gas Masterclass and Career Spotlight session.

From exploring geoscience, drilling, and energy careers to hearing honest stories about career journeys, challenges, and successes, the day was all about expanding horizons and showing what’s possible in STEM.

💡 Curiosity was sparked, confidence was built, and future STEM leaders were inspired.

A huge thank you to our volunteers, leaders, founder, wider GirlsGetSET team, and most importantly, the incredible girls who asked questions, engaged wholeheartedly, and dared to dream big.

The future of STEM in Nigeria just got brighter 💙

Creativity, curiosity and engineering in action! 🔧

The winners of our “Draw a STEM Superhero” challenge recently took part in a three-day engineering residential with The Smallpeice Trust, proudly sponsored by Baker Hughes.

From building cranes and radios to coding lock boxes and pitching ideas as teams, students developed technical, communication and teamwork skills while bringing their engineering ideas to life.

A huge thank you to The Smallpeice Trust and the brilliant students who embraced every challenge. 🌟

GirlsGetSET launches in Nigeria 🇳🇬

We launched at the Bethesda Child Support Foundation, welcoming 50 bright, bold, and joy-filled girls into the programme.

From hands-on STEM challenges to inspiring conversations with volunteers, the room was alive with curiosity, confidence, and possibility. You could feel it - the future is already taking shape.

The best part?
Their smiles said it all: hope, ambition, and the belief that anything is possible💙

As GirlsGetSET continues to grow globally, this milestone is a reminder of our mission - to open doors, spark passion, and empower the next generation of scientists, engineers, and leaders.

Here's to these 50 incredible girls and the incredible volunteers made it a success!

The next gen is in motion 👷‍♀️

Last week, Gold Award students stepped into the world of engineering at the Baker Hughes, Bridge of Don site — and showed up with energy, creativity, and ambition.

From building rigs and personal brands to networking with leaders and stepping into real roles, they didn’t just learn… they leveled up.

The goal? Confidence.
The result? A room full of future talent ready to take on anything.

Huge shoutout to everyone who made it happen — this is what opening doors really looks like. 💙💚

We’ve officially launched GirlsGetSET in Abu Dhabi! 🌟

Another country, another milestone — and another powerful step toward inspiring and empowering girls to pursue careers in STEM. 💛💙

Our Baker Hughes volunteers kicked off the programme at Cranleigh Abu Dhabi with Session 1 of the 4-part series:

💡 A masterclass on Carbon Capture, Utilization & Storage (CCUS) and its critical role in reducing emissions. The girls came prepared, having completed pre-work on the greenhouse effect — and brought incredible energy, curiosity, and thoughtful questions.

It was an engaging, hands-on session delivered by inspiring volunteers who brought engineering to life and sparked real excitement about the possibilities of STEM careers.

We can’t wait to share more updates in the coming weeks as the girls continue their journey — and as GirlsGetSET expands its impact around the world. 🌍✨
