Double Measure

Just had this awesome review of Miss Grace’s Lane Blues from Waveney Valley Radio. I’d be grateful if you like and share if you can 🤗💕

A big thankyou to Catherine CJC promotions for introducing us to Sue Skinner and her new song Miss Grace's Lane Blues.

Sue is a Forest of Dean born singer-songwriter, grandmother, folk singer, walk-leader.
She has been performing solo and in duos in and around Chepstow and the Forest of Dean for almost a decade.

Sue say's, "Since writing my first song in 2013 I have not stopped writing songs, it’s become a wonderful habit! I run a monthly open mic session near Coleford and bi-monthly songwriting sessions in Chepstow, and play gigs solo and with other guitarists, mainly in South East Wales, the Forest of Dean and Gloucestershire. I am incredibly lucky to be launching my first solo album after retiring, called “Rainbows in the Road”.

Miss Grace's Lane Blues is a really really beautifully stripped bare piece of music. It takes a special something to sit with just a guitar then to sing and touch peoples soul. Sue in this instance manages it perfectly. Running at 3 mins and 44 secs it is unapologetically raw in its content yet tender in its message. The introduction of lead guitar around the one minute forty mark gives it sudden depth and the solo that follows rips through it taking the tale to new heights. The production is absolutely faultless, the whole piece an absolute credit to Sue, it is mesmerising, captivating and do you know what....its an 11/10 from us!!!!!!!. you have an absolute winner here.

Sue's music can be found on Spotify and also at the following address on Bandcamp.
