Here are four easy ways to support British farming 🇬🇧

1. Buy what's in season - Choosing British fruit and veg when it's naturally in season is an easy way to support UK growers 🥕

2. Shop local where you can - Farm shops, farmers' markets, butchers and local sellers are a great way to put your spend closer to the people producing your food 🛒

3. Check the label - Don't assume something is British because of the packaging or what it is. Take a few seconds to check 🔎

4. Choose British when you're eating out - Support businesses that use British and local meat, dairy and produce for their menus. Supporting British farming isn't only what you do at home 🍽️

RPA have reported the most popular items:

🐑 FG2 (Sheep Netting) was by far the most popular, with kilometres of fencing applied for.

🍃 BN11 (Planting new hedge) - 2500 kilometres of new hedgerows.

🌳BN5: (hedgerow laying) - 1,300 kilometres of hedgerows restored through laying.

🪵FG12: (Wooden Field Gate) - 4,500+ applications.

NEXT STEPS for those who applied ⬇️

RPA are working through applications and will be in touch over the rest of 2026 with the next steps for applicants.

The RPA have said “We are now moving into the next stage of the process and have begun assessing applications and issuing agreements. Due to the high volume of applications received, it’s likely that agreement offers will continue to be issued throughout the remainder of the year.”
