We’re installing real brick slips directly onto the HUP rail system—giving it the appearance of traditional brickwork without building a traditional cavity wall.

A WALL THAT MOVES?! 👀🧱

When you’re building this close to a boundary, there’s no room to finish the outside of the wall afterwards — so this HUP wall is built and finished first, then hinged into position!

Once it’s swung into place, everything is carefully sealed and secured to create a properly finished, weatherproof wall. A clever system that allows us to make full use of tight spaces. 👌

Today is all about dismantling the existing conservatory and preparing the site for this brand new HUP home extension.

Building tight to a boundary? Getting the base right is absolutely crucial! 📐

In this video, I’m explaining why we level our base tray properly using a sand-and-cement bed—especially when access is limited and you’re working close to a neighbouring boundary.

If the base tray isn’t level and square from the start, it can affect everything that follows: the walls, roof, doors and the overall finish.
