The Click - Creative

Photography has been part of my life since I was 12, and I now have over 34 years of experience behind the camera.

When I was younger, there wasn’t a photography club for me to learn, experiment and meet other young people who loved photography too.

So I created The Click.

After working in a school since 2017, with experience supporting children with SEND, I wanted to create something that brings all of that together.

A place to learn photography, develop creative ideas, get GCSE and A Level support, and most importantly, slow down in a very fast-paced digital world.

The Click is the photography club I wish I’d had at 12.

LOVE TAKING PHOTOS? THIS ONE’S FOR YOU! 📸

Got a young photographer in the family? Maybe they’re always taking pictures, fascinated by cameras, or just love being creative?

The Click – Beginner Photography is a relaxed, friendly photography club for ages 8–13, designed for young people who want to learn, experiment and have fun with photography.

🌟 No experience needed – just curiosity!

We’ll explore things like:

📷 How to get better photos
💡 Light, shadows & colour
🎨 Composition & creativity
🔍 Close-ups, details & different perspectives
📸 Photography challenges & projects
✨ Editing and making your images stand out
🧠 Developing your own ideas and style

There’s no pressure to be “good at photography” and no need for expensive equipment. We learn by doing, experimenting and having a go.

Whether they’re already obsessed with taking photos or have never picked up a camera before, there’s something for them to discover.

Ages: 8–13
Level: Beginner / developing photographers
Small, friendly groups
Creative, relaxed & SEND-friendly environment

📋 WAITING LIST NOW OPEN

We’re also starting a waiting list for anyone who would like to join a club that is currently full.

And there’s some exciting news…

If the waiting list grows, we’ll look at opening additional club sessions! 🎉

So even if your preferred session is full, get your name on the list. The more interest we have, the more opportunities we can create.

📩 Message The Click to ask about spaces or join the waiting list.

📅 Can’t make these days or times?

Don’t worry! We’re looking at the possibility of opening additional club sessions if there’s enough interest.

We’d also love to hear from you — if there’s a particular day or time that would work better for you, let us know! Your suggestions will help us decide what additional sessions could look like. Including adult sessions and mini (under 8’s sessions)

So even if you can’t make our current sessions, get in touch and let us know what you’d like to see. 📸

Come along, get creative and find your style. 📸

Open and honest.

Sometimes we have bad photography days. It happens.

You can come up with ideas, you see the vision, you know the settings. But sometimes the day is against you, no reason, no explanation and it can be frustrating.

Here we have a tree-rat not cooperating, framing of the building just off, the main subject - the books not in focus (that was on me my head was not in the game), not getting the lighting right in the umbrella and not having a focus subject on the bridge.

If you have a day like this you can do one of two things;

1. Try and save an image or two through editing.

2. Let it pass. These days are going to happen, I can mope about it, get annoyed with myself but it won’t change anything.

Again, sometimes the day has other plans for you, and all your feelings are valid and should be acknowledged, but you just need to let go sometimes.

Your ideas are great and the next time you try them the day might just be on your side.
