Good to visit Ards Business Hub with Cllr Vicky Moore for their annual Summer Social.

We had the chance to meet some of the businesses based there, hear about the challenges and opportunities they’re facing, and see the Mini Digi Mobile Lab in action. The Lab was AMAZING- we tried VR headsets and Google Glasses, to get a sense of how they can help businesses bring their ideas to life and connect them with customers and users.

Local businesses are a vital part of our economy, and hearing directly from them helps us understand where we can support them at both Council and Stormont level.

🌻 Comber & District Horticultural Society Annual Show 🌻

The annual show is back on Saturday 12th September at First Presbyterian Church Halls, Comber!

Entries are open to everyone for:
🍎fruit and 🥕veg
🌹flowers, baking
🍯preserves
📸photography
🎨handicrafts and much more

Especially welcome are entries from children and young people.

Entries are just £1 each, or simply come along to see the displays and enjoy afternoon tea from 1.30pm.

Open to everyone whether you're an experienced grower, baker or crafter – or entering for the first time – it's a great traditional community event.

Mathison and Moore chat to local businesses at Ards Business Hub. ⬇️

Support with the cost of home heating oil is opening soon.

From 9th of September, eligible households whose main source of heating is oil will be able to apply for £100 towards the cost.

It will cover a range of people on low incomes and disability benefits, as well as single people or couples with a joint annual income of less than £30,000, subject to the scheme criteria.

Applications can be made through nidirect, and there is phone and in-person support available for anyone who needs help applying.
