🚨 DRIVING TEST SWAPS ARE CHANGING FROM 1 OCTOBER! 🚨

Got a driving test booked but need to swap it with another learner? From 1 October, the process is changing, and there’s one important thing you need to know. 👇

📞 Learner 1: Calls the DVSA to request the swap
📞 Learner 2: Must call the DVSA on the same working day to confirm it

⚠️ Both learners must contact the DVSA on the same working day for the swap to be processed.

Save this post so you don’t get caught out! 📲

WOULD YOU DRIVE THE SAME WAY IF YOU COULDN’T SEE AS FAR AHEAD?

As the evenings get darker, the road can feel very different - especially on rural roads and single carriageways where visibility, bends, changing speeds, and unexpected hazards can all demand more from the driver.

In 2025, 60% of reported road fatalities in Great Britain occurred on rural roads, even though rural roads carried 45% of traffic.

And 77% of reported road fatalities occurred on single carriageway roads.

Darkness itself is not automatically the cause of a collision. But when visibility is reduced, your speed, observations, use of lights and ability to anticipate hazards become even more important.

At SmartLearner, we help learners build the skills to deal with real driving conditions, not just bright, clear roads.

Stay alert. Adjust your driving. Be prepared for what you can’t immediately see.
