Direct4x4

Did you know Direct4x4 offers a fitting service? 🔧
Buying the accessory is the exciting bit. Spending your Saturday surrounded by instructions, tools and wondering where that last bolt was supposed to go… perhaps not so much. 😂
So why not leave it to us?

https://direct4x4.co.uk/pages/direct4x4-fitting-service

Here at Direct4x4 HQ in Derby, our team can fit most of our accessories directly to your vehicle — from side steps, roof racks and awnings to rooftop tents, drawer systems and canopies, plus plenty more.
Simply bring your vehicle to us, make yourself comfortable in our showroom and enjoy a coffee while we do the hard work. ☕🔧
Whether you've already chosen your Direct4x4 gear or you're not quite sure what you need, have a chat with the team and we'll help you get sorted.
Buy it. Bring it. We'll fit it. 🙌
Visit our website or give us a call for more information and fitting availability.

Meet Mark – our General Manager and unofficial Team Dad. 👋
Every workplace needs a Mark.
He's the one checking everyone is OK when we're away at shows or out green laning, the one who'll get stuck into pretty much any job that needs doing — and quite often the one clearing up after the rest of us! 😂
Despite the title General Manager, you'll never find Mark standing on the sidelines simply telling everyone else what to do.
He's much more likely to roll up his sleeves and get involved.
Customer fitting query? Mark can help.
Brackets and stock orders with Heather? He's on it.
Day-to-day running of Direct4x4? Absolutely.
Washing up after we've cooked enough food to feed half a Land Rover show? Pass him the Marigolds. 🧤😂
His role means having an overview of pretty much every part of Direct4x4, but what probably sums Mark up best is that he wouldn't ask his team to do something he wouldn't be prepared to do himself.

When he isn't keeping all of us in check, Mark loves getting outdoors with his wife Emma — particularly trips to Scotland and Italy — along with a good wh**ky, F1 and, of course, Bella the cat, who appears to have appointed herself Assistant General Manager. 🐱

Mark also lives with MS, but he certainly doesn’t let it define his role within the team. He brings the same positivity, humour and willingness to get stuck in — whether that’s helping a customer, keeping us organised or joining us on an adventure. 💚
So that's Mark: General Manager, team dad, problem solver, chief washer-upper and a pretty important part of the Direct4x4 family.
Give him a 👋 in the comments!

Pickup owners… how many times have you climbed into the back just to reach THAT one thing? 😂
There is an easier way.
Our Heavy Duty Universal Carpet Top Slide-Out Cargo Tray for Vans & Pickups brings your load out to you, making it much easier to organise and access your gear.

And if you need proof that it isn't just for camping kit, take a look at how our friend Josh from Aired Down Jacked Up Adventures uses his.
🛠️ Working
⛺ Camping
🤿 Diving
🚙 Adventuring
That's exactly what we like to see — Direct4x4 gear being properly USED.
We've currently got plenty of these cargo trays in stock, so if you've been thinking about making the back of your pickup or van a bit more useful, now might be the time. 👀

👀 PROJECT DISCO: THE TRANSFORMATION HAS BEGUN…

Remember our slightly standard-looking Disco 4?

Well… she’s had a couple of upgrades. 😏

New side steps ✔️
New roof rack ✔️
And we're only just getting started…

We’ll be taking a closer look at both additions soon, but for now we thought she deserved a little moment in the spotlight. 🖤

The plan is to turn our Disco 4 into a proper Direct4x4 adventure setup, ready to get out there and put our gear to good use.

So… what do you reckon is going on next? 👀

MEET THE TEAM — HEATHER 👋

Meet Heather, our Assistant Manager — although around here, she’s affectionately known as our Trev! 😄

One thing you should know about Heather? She LOVES a Land Rover Defender. 💚

So much so that we couldn't possibly choose just one photo for her Meet the Team! Here she is enjoying life beside the 110 on our Wales adventure — and, of course, behind the wheel of our much-loved Defender 90, Nora.

When Nora left us, let's just say Heather took it harder than most… 💔😂

But there's much more to Heather than her Defender obsession!

🔧 Heather heads up our Research & Development, spending plenty of time test-fitting side steps to all sorts of vehicles. That can mean adjusting, tweaking and altering brackets until everything fits exactly as it should — plenty of patience required!

☎️ She's also one of the friendly voices you'll hear at Direct4x4. Always chatty, always ready for a laugh and definitely one of the reasons our office is never too quiet!

Away from work, Heather loves spending time with her son Nathan, daughter-in-law Frankie and the rest of her family. She's also loves going on a cruise and particularly enjoyed exploring the beautiful Norwegian Fjords. 🚢🏔️

Next up, she's looking forward to joining us at The Great British Land Rover Show at Stoneleigh — although we're not entirely convinced she's going for work…

There might be a little bit of Defender shopping involved. 👀😂

One day, Trev. One day! 🤞

So if you're coming to Stoneleigh and hear plenty of laughter coming from the Direct4x4 stand, you'll know Heather probably isn't far away! 💚

Say hello to our Trev! 👋

Sometimes the most practical upgrades are the ones that make your car look better too. 👌

Take this MG HS EV.

Our Black Raptor Side Steps make getting in and out that little bit easier, but stand back and look at the whole vehicle and they do something else too…

🖤 They add a strong black detail along the lower body.
🖤 They complement the wheels and exterior trim.
🖤 And they give the MG a slightly more purposeful stance.

It's a good reminder that side steps aren't just something you fit to a rugged 4x4 — on the right vehicle, they can become part of the overall look.

Useful? Absolutely.
Good looking? We think so. 😏

Would you add them to yours?

A little Throwback Thursday… and a bit of news! 👀

We’ve been looking back at these photos from our last trip to The Great British Land Rover Show at Stoneleigh — setting up the stand, getting the vehicles ready and, of course, surrounding ourselves with plenty of Land Rovers. What’s not to like? 😄

So it seems like the perfect time to tell you…

🎉 DIRECT4X4 IS HEADING BACK TO STONELEIGH THIS NOVEMBER! 🎉

We’re really looking forward to being back at the show, catching up with familiar faces, meeting plenty of new ones and bringing along some Direct4x4 gear for you to get a proper look at.

We’ll share more about what we’re bringing and where you can find us nearer the time.

Who remembers us from last time — and who will we be seeing there this November? 🚙🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️

🍁 Summer ending doesn’t mean the adventures have to…

Autumn is almost here — and we're definitely not ready to pack the camping gear away! 🏕️

We couldn't resist giving one of our favourite shots from our recent Wales trip a little autumn makeover… and now it's making us want to go straight back! 😍

There’s something pretty special about getting outdoors at this time of year. Crisp mornings, changing colours, quieter campsites and an excuse for an extra hot coffee around camp. ☕️🍂

So while everyone else is saying goodbye to summer, we’re already thinking about where the next adventure might take us. 🚙

Who says camping season has to end with summer?

Here’s to muddy boots, cosy camps and plenty more adventures. 🍂🏕️

Are you an all-year camper, or does your gear get packed away until spring? 👇

Emma is our payroll, finance and social media superstar, and she has one of the most important jobs here at Direct4x4 — making sure everyone gets paid! 😄

But Emma is definitely not limited to numbers and spreadsheets. She’s incredibly multi-talented and plays a big part in organising our team fun days and adventures, from green laning to our recent trip to Wales.

And if that wasn’t enough, Emma is also our very own 5★ Michelin chef! 👩‍🍳 She keeps the team well fed and watered with her delicious chilli, fajitas and plenty of other tasty treats. 😋

Away from work, Emma loves spending time with family and friends and is often out exploring the beautiful landscapes of Scotland or the Lake District.
All in all, Emma is a valued member of the Direct4x4 team who brings organisation, energy, good humour — and, thankfully, plenty of good food — to the workplace!

Another Defender through the doors? Oh, go on then… 😍
It's no secret that we have a bit of a soft spot for a Defender here at Direct4x4 — especially when they leave looking like this. 🖤
This Defender 90 came in for a set of our Black Raptor Side Steps, adding an easier step up while keeping that tough, understated look.

And on this colour combination?
We think they're right at home. 👌

Practical ✔️
Tough ✔️
Looking rather smart ✔️

Now the important question…

Would you keep this Defender clean and understated, or start adding the adventure gear? 😏🏕️
