In September the FORWARD Project ran a second Study Trip to the Balkans. This group of community and peace workers had an immersive experience in understanding this other modern European conflict with deep historical roots, and looking at the lessons we might learn from it.
The group spent time in both the border region of Croatia and at the CIM Peace Farm in Bosnia. They engaged with survivors of war and ethnic cleansing, with former combatants, and with victims, who are now working for peace and healing.
Over the next few months the group will convene again to reflect on their experiences and explore how this will inform their work and practice in their own communities.
Many thanks to Peaceplus+ and the Special EU Programmes Body - SEUPB which funds the FORWARD project.

As part of our recent Study Trip to the Balkans, some of our participants had the opportunity to meet both the British and Irish Ambassadors to Zagreb to hear their views.
