The Whistlefield Inn is both satisfyingly remote and yet within easy reach of Central Scotland and beyond. It is only 12 miles north from the bustling town of Dunoon in splendid isolation on the shores of Loch Eck. All the rooms are traditional in decor and feature brand new en suite shower rooms, with luxurious power showers. The whole hotel has recently been re-fitted with an eco friendly state of the art central heating system, so you can be rest assured your visit will be a most comfortable one.

🚨 Equine Flu in the New Forest 🚨
As many of you may already be aware, there is sadly an ongoing outbreak of Equine flu in the New Forest. This particular strain is especially severe and has already sadly claimed the lives of some of my fellow commoners free-roaming ponies.
As much as we all love seeing and taking photos of these beautiful animals and enjoying the freedom of the Forest, I am asking everyone to please take a step back during this time to help protect them.
How you can help:
• Give ponies, donkeys, and other livestock an extra wide berth
• Avoid visiting affected areas where possible
• Do not approach, feed, or touch the animals
• Be mindful that the virus can be spread via clothing, footwear, and equipment
Personally, I am taking extra precautions by disinfecting my footwear and changing clothing after checking on ponies to help reduce the risk of transmission.
These animals are incredibly vulnerable right now, and a small change in our behaviour can make a big difference in protecting them.
Please do your bit to help safeguard the New Forest’s ponies and donkeys during this difficult time ❤️🐴

This Easter weekend the bar will be open from midday to 11pm on Friday and Saturday and from midday to 10pm on Sunday.
Our main menu will be served 12-2.15pm and 5pm to 8.15pm on Friday and Saturday and from 12-2.15 and 5pm to 7.15pm on Sunday. We will serve our lunch platters only between 2.15pm and 4pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
