Arthur’s Seat Gallery Update! 🌍 Earlier this year, we announced our aim to introduce a new, free to enter gallery to Dynamic Earth. This gallery will celebrate the iconic Arthur’s Seat landmark and its beautiful surroundings through hands-on interactives, digital experiences and engaging storytelling. Today, we’re excited to welcome artist and illustrator Vojta Hybl to this gallery project!

Vojta will be bringing Edinburgh’s historic landscape to life through a series of original and striking illustrations: from art that captures the evolution of this ancient volcano, to portraits that show the unique wildlife that can be found in Holyrood Park.

Follow us on social media for updates as the project continues and find out more about our journey to bring this new gallery to life on the Dynamic Earth website: https://dynamicearth.org.uk/support-us/arthurs-seat-gallery/

Dynamic Earth's new Gallery is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund Scotland. Thanks to National Lottery players, we are creating interactive exhibition materials which will explore the heritage, science and ecology of Arthur's Seat and Holyrood Park.

Don't miss our latest presenter-led Planetarium show: 'What's Up: Summer Skies' ☀ In this show, you’ll go stargazing in the summer sky and take a look at the incredible Artemis II mission!

🔭 Edinburgh sits so far north – 56 degrees north of the equator – that our summer skies never get fully dark. There is always a little bit of sunlight spilling up over the horizon which means that stargazing in Scotland in summer is… really not that great! But, in the Planetarium, we can sidestep nature. We’ll delete the Sun (temporarily!) so we will be able to stargaze in perfect darkness: spotting stars, planets and perhaps a galaxy or two!

🚀 Plus – we’ll be delving into the incredible Artemis II mission which took four astronauts further into space than any other human, around the moon and back home again. We will take a look at some of our favourite moments from their mission and, of course, some of the amazing photographs they took along the way.

🗓 Showing daily, take a look at our Planetarium Schedule to find out show times during your visit.
