Restoring school buildings is one of the most practical ways we can help communities in Syria rebuild.
A safe, functioning classroom can give children the chance to return to education and bring a sense of stability back to families after years of conflict.
In June, our field operator John Home Robertson returned to Syria and visited areas badly affected by the civil war. Many school buildings are still damaged, partially unusable or in urgent need of repair.
Now, with your help, we can bring a school in Al-Rihan back into use.
Your donation will help create safe classrooms where children can learn again.

Your donations to our Lebanon appeal have helped in many ways.
Alongside the setting up of 15 shelter schools, our team on the ground in Beirut has also formed a girls football team.

These pictures have just arrived from Machiara village in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, where pupils are returning to school after last year’s catastrophic flash floods.
The floods swept away the school serving around 200 children. With support from EDAI and the generosity of our donors, the local community was able to rebuild it.
Thank you to everyone whose donations helped make the new school year possible.

Our field volunteers Maggie Tookey and Clea Friend have recently returned from Ukraine, where they helped distribute life-saving tourniquet kits to trained civilians. The kits were funded through the efforts of EDA volunteers Brian, Ross and John.
They also delivered food and water to communities trapped near the front line, helped evacuate civilians, and visited projects sustained by your donations - including sensory rooms for people affected by trauma and a bakery providing food to those in need.
Maggie and Clea emphasise that this work is only possible because of the courage and dedication of our Ukrainian partners, X-Traverse and Volunteerska.

We've helped to set up sensory rooms in Ukraine - funded by your donations.
When Maggie visited Ukraine last last year, she realised just how important these rooms are. These rooms are designed to reduce emotional tension and help stabilise a child’s psychological state. They are safe spaces for children with special educational needs, disabilities, and those experiencing severe trauma.
