Planning a road trip through the Scottish Highlands? Blair Castle in Perthshire is well worth adding to your itinerary. 🏰

The castle is home to Europe’s only remaining private army, the Atholl Highlanders. When Queen Victoria stayed here in 1844, the Highlanders acted as her personal guard, and she granted them colours the following year.

With glorious gardens, Highland cows and woodland walks to explore, it’s a wonderful place to while away a few hours.

1.3 million steps for wild places! 👣

Our longstanding corporate partners Absolute Escapes have taken on the Trust's Step Up for Wild Places challenge again this year, beating last year's record by 300k steps!

Over one working week, 21 members of the Absolute Escapes team clocked up an incredible 1,391,372 steps - the equivalent of climbing Ben Nevis 46 times! 🏔️

Through Step Up, the team raised funds which will support our vital conservation work at Nevis, including peatland restoration, native tree planting, invasive species removal and path repairs.

Absolute Escapes Operations & Product Manager Daisy said: "We’re a team that thrives on a little friendly rivalry, and the Step Up challenge was the perfect opportunity to turn daily steps into a fun competition.

"We created a live leaderboard, kept tabs on everyone’s progress and cheered each other on - all while secretly trying to outpace our colleagues!"

For International Day of Charity, we’re sharing some photos from our recent conservation days at the John Muir Trust’s Glenlude site in the Scottish Borders.

Our team headed out to spend the day getting stuck into some hands-on conservation work - planting new trees and caring for those that are already growing.

We even got to see some of the trees we’d planted and looked after on previous visits now standing tall and well established. 🌱➡️🌳

We’re always proud to get involved in projects like this, and it’s great to see the impact of that work growing right in front of us.
