The Masquerade is one to watch out for this year 👀

Described as nightclub meets archive, this live performance by Jj Fadaka and ladé reimagines Nigerian and Scottish myths. A masquerade dances through sound, poetry and ritual as a living legend of resistance, ancestry and q***r memory on the dancefloor.

Let's talk about Havier 🎸

Haiver are a Glasgow-based indie band fronted by Billy Kennedy, of Frightened Rabbit. Blending heartfelt lyricism with soaring guitars and cinematic energy, their music explores themes of loss, hope, and renewal. Haiver’s sound is raw, honest, and deeply human - a stirring new chapter from one of Scotland’s most compelling songwriters.

Our next act in the line up for MiS Gigs is... Dara Dubh 🪉

Dara Dubh is an Irish indie–folk–rock artist whose songs sit somewhere between heartfelt confession and a good kick up the road. A singer-songwriter and harpist with a habit of blending the delicate with the downright fierce, she brings a sharp emotional edge to a sound shaped by folk roots, alternative influences, and whatever else has been rattling around her head that week.

It's time to get to know our line up for Made in Scotland Gigs and we are kicking off with the dreamy tones of Cathal Murphy.

Cathal blends guitar-centric funk with new wave jazz and soul. Cathal’s first headline UK and Ireland tour had sold out shows from Edinburgh to London's iconic jazz venue Pizza Express.

Made in Scotland Gigs was launched in 2024 as a new music strand of the Made in Scotland Showcase. For two successful years, this project has offered promoters and audiences alike a snapshot of some of the best emerging talent from Scotland, presented by Scotland’s Music Convention – Wide Days in partnership with Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

The Made in Scotland Gigs will take place on Monday 17th of August across Bannerman’s, La Belle Angele and Sneaky Pete’s.
