Poor Basil came in to see Rosie today with some very sore paws 🐾

After a thorough examination, Basil left with a treatment plan… & the dreaded cone of shame to stop him licking at his paws while they heal! 😅

We’re sure he’ll forgive us eventually! 😆

A warm welcome to gorgeous little Evie 💕

Evie is an adorable 10 week old Cocker Spaniel puppy & she visited us recently to see our new vet Rosie for her puppy vaccinations. She was such a brave girl & took everything in her stride 🫶🏼

🐾Occasionally a dog can be more suited to being a lovely pet rather than a working assistance dog

We are looking for special people who are able to provide a permanent home to our dogs that sadly have had to be withdrawn from our training programme due to specific medical needs.

📢We are particularly looking for people who are physically able to handle a larger dog and tend to specific medical needs of the dog: including having quick and easy access to a veterinary surgeon

⚠ You would need to have the capacity to ensure the dog receives the required care -including medical care or meeting specific dietary requirements - and you would receive the support of our training team as the dog is introduced to your home.

If you are interested in adopting one of our amazing dogs who sadly cannot finish their training please get in touch.

Meet Barney, who belongs to our Receptionist, Heather 🐾

📅 Barney is 15 months old (that’s around 16 in dog years!)

🧀 His favourite snack is pretty much anything he can get his paws on!

🧸 Barney’s favourite toy is his Kong duck, which was bought for him by his first foster carer.

🌊 His favourite thing to do is to help “water” the flowers at bedtime by chasing the hose! Followed by snuggling up on the sofa for a cuddle. He’s definitely more of a Laprador than a Labrador!

🧦 Barney’s naughtiest habit is pinching his dad’s socks whenever he gets the chance!

💡 A fun fact about Barney - he had originally trained to become one of the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People but decided it wasn’t quite the career for him 🤭 so was recently adopted by Heather & her partner. He’s settled into family life beautifully & has given their older Labrador, Devon, a whole new lease of life 🫶🏼

Meet Jake, a very handsome 15 year old Collie ❤️

Jake recently came in to see us as he’d been feeling a little sore on his legs. After a thorough check-up, Malcolm put together a treatment plan to help keep him as comfortable & mobile as possible.

As our pets get older, it’s not unusual for them to slow down or show signs of stiffness. If you’ve noticed your dog struggling to get up, hesitating on walks, finding stairs difficult or seeming less keen to play, it could be worth booking them in for a check-up 🐾
