**AUTHOR TALK ** - Join us at Colinton library on Wed 10th June at 6pm with crime author Tom Wood. A true story about the first modern murder and how the ground-breaking work of Scottish forensic scientists who developed new techniques helped solve the case and shape the future of scientific criminal investigation.

There will be an opportunity to meet the author / ask questions and have books signed.

Balerno Library will reopen on Monday 1st June normal hours resuming. We look forward to seeing you then.

Unfortunately Balerno Library will be closed tomorrow due to urgent essential work. We are hoping to reopen the library on Monday at 1pm as planned, and will provide further updates if this is not possible. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Currie library will be open tomorrow from 10-5pm as an alternative location.

The week beginning 18 May is Bookbug Week! To celebrate, why not bring your pre-schooler along with their favourite teddy bear or soft toy. Bookbug sessions at Balerno Library are on Wednesdays 3.30-4.00. Because we are very limited when it comes to space, please book a space 0131 529 5500. If at all possible, please book BEFORE the day, and remember to phone us to cancel if you find you won't make it. We look forward to seeing you!

**CURRIE LIBRARY TEMPORARY CLOSURE**

WED 6th May 5pm & THURSDAY 7th May 10-5pm

To support the Scottish Parliament Elections, Currie Library will be used as a polling station on Thursday 7th May 2026 and will be closed to all library services.
It is also necessary to close the library from 5pm on Wednesday 6th May to support the set up of the polling station.

The library will reopen as normal on Friday 8th May 2026.

This Sunday is International Women's Day and the day after, in Colinton Library, we will have the pleasure to host Catherine Awoyode presentation of the book "Alora: The Prophecy". Catherine is only 13 and already published her book! She will tell us about it and you will be able to ask!

**TRUE CRIME AUTHOR TALK** Join us at Currie library for a free author talk on Wed 11th March at 6pm.

The World's End Murders The Inside Story. A fascinating insight by author and former Deputy Chief Constable of Lothian and Borders Police Tom Wood. As Director of Operations Tom will explain about his investigation in solving the famous World's End Murders. There will be an opportunity to meet the author and we will also host a Q and A followed by book signing. Not to be missed.
