We are specifically looking for foster carers who would be happy to foster indoor rabbits and indoor guinea pigs. As the weather changes this time of year we like them to be indoors protected from the elements and enjoying some home comforts!
When you foster for us, we provide you with absolutely everything you need including accommodation, food, enrichment, behaviour advice and support as well as paying for any veterinary care needed.
You would need to have a room in your house where any resident pets cannot access the rabbits or guinea pigs. If you'd like some more information please do get in touch at [email protected]/03007771853 (option 3) between 10am-4pm daily
Alternatively you can apply here: https://volunteer.bluecross.org.uk/opportunities/117959-pet-foster-carer-devon-2026-06-16

🐾 Could you be the retirement home this lovely boy is looking for? 🐾
After our last post, we were overwhelmed with lovely applications for this gorgeous older gentleman. ❤️ Sadly, all of the homes that came forward had either children or other pets, so we’re still searching for the right match for him.
He’s a friendly, affectionate boy who loves nothing more than a lap to curl up on. He has a stress-related illness but has been doing brilliantly in his foster home.
To help him stay happy and well, he needs a calm, quiet home with no cats, dogs or children, as these can all be potential stressors for him.
He’d love a peaceful retirement home with a safe outdoor space to explore, and someone who will enjoy having this lovely boy as their companion. 🥰
Could you offer him the quiet life he deserves? ❤️
Squeaks Hi, I’m Squeaks a rescue from Blue Cross and I need a new home. Can you help me? https://www.bluecross.org.uk/pet/squeaks-2186314

We find ourselves in a rather unusual position, in that we have lots of single female rabbits looking for new husbuns!
We often rehome female rabbits quickly, and find that male rabbits take longer to rehome, however not at the moment 🐰
Do you have a neutered male rabbit looking for somebun to snuggle up with?
Take a look at the ladies we have and do pop an application in if so:

Tigger and Ziggy are a beautiful pair of Bengal cross Domestic Shorthair cats, Ziggy likes to come over to you and rub her cheeks into you, she enjoys winding around your legs to make sure you reach down and give her a fuss, she's particularly fond of a chin scratch to!
Tigger is a little more reserved than her sister, and enjoys perching on her scratching post, or watching what's going on from a quiet, warm cosy spot. Once she's got to know someone, she does also enjoy physical fuss and will come to you when she wants it, and often greets you with a 'chirrup' when you get home!
These girls are looking for a home together with safe access to the outdoors, they'll be a really delightful addition to the right home- do apply for them if you think you could be a good match for them!

For anyone who remembers Rani, here's an update on her, she was rehomed earlier this year in January.
This sweet, sensitive girl was a 'project' for someone to take on, she was worried by almost everything and incredibly shutdown when she first came into foster care with us. In her foster home, over several months, she flourished and her true personality came out, revealing a gentle, fun and playful side. She was then adopted and went to live with another cat, who she loves very much 🥹
'Rani is still continuing to do well and has decided she is Wilf’s shadow and likes to be near to where he is! She has also started getting up on the bed with us in the mornings which is really nice and just seems so much more confident and comfortable with us. I don’t think we could have asked for a more affectionate cat, we are just waiting for the day she decides she wants to sit on our lap.'
🐾Advance warning that we are closed to the public during the morning of Sunday 20th September, reopening at 1pm until 4pm for walk in enquiries🐾

Picture this.. you're a few weeks old, cold, tired and hungry, fleas are climbing all over you and you've been abandoned in a field with nowhere safe to go 💔
Then your luck changes, you and your siblings are found by a kind person, and taken to the nearest vets, given some medical care, then placed into a wonderful foster home, where you're loved, cared for, fed, warm and learn about the big wide world and how exciting it is!
You and your siblings become healthier, gain weight, your coats become shiny, you are showered with love and attention and people soon become your favourite thing in the world, so much so that you 'vibrate' with purrs the moment you seem them!
Now you're ready for your next step, a new home away from busy roads, with safe access outdoors, potentially some children or a dog to live with, and definitely a warm lap and plenty of toys!
Jimmy and Veronica are the last of their litter looking for their forever after, could you be the one for them?😍
