🎉 £3,000 raised, plenty of laughs… and it turns out we know very little about the price of yachts.

Last night, members of the Accountancy Learning team took part in the annual Westcotts Charity Game Show Night, helping to raise a fantastic £3,000 for Devon Mind.

Sadly, victory wasn’t ours (again). We were well and truly undone by The Price Is Right, where our estimate of how much a yacht might cost proved to be… somewhat optimistic. ⛵

Still, a great night was had by all, with plenty of laughs along the way and, most importantly, a brilliant amount raised for a very worthwhile cause.

Huge thanks to Westcotts for putting on another great evening.

Perhaps better luck next year. And maybe a little research into yacht prices beforehand. There might be other knowledge to brush up on as well.

Cornwall Opportunities

Antonio's a proper coffee connoisseur. Barista coffee only, thank you very much. Instant coffee? Hard no. 🚫☕

Food-wise, Italian is his weakness 🍝🍕 (though he'll admit Spanish food gives it a run for its money). He's also the king of pizza nights, complete with his own wood-fired pizza oven in the garden 🔥. Antonio's Pizzeria, basically.

Got a sweet tooth too. Sticky toffee pudding and apple crumble are his go-to, so don't get between him and dessert. 🍮

And football-wise, he's a proud Real Madrid fan ⚽👑. Ask him about their three Champions League titles in a row and settle in, because he WILL tell you.

We love celebrating our students, and today it's all about Katie!

Katie's been doing triathlons since lockdown and started stepping up to Ironman distance alongside her Level 4 AAT studies with us. She's since progressed onto Level 7 and even changed jobs during her Level 4 to give herself more time to train and cut down on travel. Along the way, she also took time out to get married.

That dedication paid off. Katie has just won Ironman 70.3 Tallinn in Estonia, finishing 1st in her age group and 5th overall, including the professional women!

Her tutor Amy told us: "Katie's dedication in the classroom mirrors what she brings to the race. Focused, resilient, and always pushing to do better. We're so proud to see her succeed both in her studies and in Ironman."

A huge congratulations to Katie and thank you to the team at bk plus for supporting her every step of the way. We can't wait to see what's next!
