Ever left a dental appointment still unsure about what’s actually going on with your teeth?
When appointments feel rushed, it can be difficult to ask questions, understand treatment properly or feel confident making decisions.
That is why we prioritise longer appointment times and a calmer, more considered approach to care.
Patients should have time to talk through concerns, understand their options and feel fully informed, not hurried through the process > https://exeteradvanceddentistry.co.uk/

A truly fantastic day for the team, as they gathered for the Michelmores 5k Charity Run down on the Quay last week. Every staff member completed it.
It was great to support this well-known event and help raise money for a very important charity, Hospicare.

When was the last time you changed your toothbrush or brush head? 🪥
Most people use theirs for far longer than they should.
Worn bristles become less effective at removing plaque and can be harsher on your gums too.
Take this as your sign to check your brush. If the bristles are frayed or splaying outward, it is time for a replacement!

Investing in your smile is not only cosmetic. It is strategic.
In dentistry, investment means long-term thinking.
👉 Replacing ageing fillings before they fracture
👉 Addressing early gum disease before bone is affected
👉 Monitoring tooth wear before enamel is lost
Most complex treatment begins with small issues that were left too long.
The smartest investment is prevention.
Transformation is strongest when it is built, not repaired.

Today, on International Day of Charity, we’re celebrating some of the causes our team have been proud to support this year.
Back in February, Ben took on an incredible 200-mile cycle across Tanzania, helping to raise £4,651 for Bridge2Aid and their work supporting dental care training in rural communities. 🚴
And there’s another challenge just around the corner…
On 10 September, a group of our team will be taking part in the Michelmores Charity Run here in Exeter, which is supporting Hospicare this year. 🏃
We’re looking forward to cheering them on and sharing more from the day!

Whitening can brighten teeth, but it cannot solve every concern someone has about their smile.
Whitening does not change the colour of crowns, fillings or veneers, and it will not correct uneven shapes, worn edges or translucency caused by enamel wear.
That is why assessment matters before treatment begins. The most natural-looking results come from understanding the full picture first, including enamel health, gum health and existing dental work.
Good aesthetic dentistry is carefully planned, not rushed > https://exeteradvanceddentistry.co.uk/cosmetic-dentistry/tooth-whitening/

If you have a tooth you avoid chewing on, it is probably trying to tell you something.
Many people gradually adapt to discomfort without fully noticing it.
Chewing on one side, avoiding harder foods or “being careful” with a tooth can all suggest an underlying issue such as a crack, failing filling or infection.
Problems like these rarely resolve on their own. In many cases, treating them earlier means simpler, more conservative treatment and a better long-term outcome.

Whitening is not the first step. The foundations are.
Brightening your smile works best when gums are healthy and enamel is strong.
That is why every aesthetic journey should begin with assessment and prevention.
A radiant smile is built on stability, not shortcuts.
