Wow, wow, wow! What an absolutely stunning venue at Clifford Barton Weddings. It totally took our breath away- the photos don’t do it justice! I tried to do some ‘insta content’ but as I’m not a teenager, this didn’t go so well! 🤪
We played ‘Dancing Queen’🕺for the entrance of the bridal party, When I’m sixty 64 (which the guests particularly enjoyed) and ‘Isn’t she lovely’ as the brides signed the register and ‘I believe in a thing called love’ as the exit music.
As the guests enjoyed the stunning scenery and canapés, we played a range of rock, jazz and pop.
What a fab day! 😊🎻🎻🎻🎻

Another little road trip on Friday, this time down to the beautiful village of Tamerton Foliot and St Mary's Church. Its always so lovely to play in a church where the acoustics really help enhance the sound of the strings. Richard played a solo version of 'Can't help falling in Love with you' for the bridal party entrance. The rest of the ceremony was very much rock and pop with 'I don't want to miss a thing' and 'Always remember us this way' for the signing and Bon Jovi 'Living on a prayer' for the exit music. We also played a short set of rock and pop classics before the ceremony while the guests arrived and took their seats. www.exevalleystringquartet.co.uk

We were back at Rockbeare Manor last weekend playing for a wedding ceremony and drinks.
The wedding took place in the garden under the beautiful September sun ☀️.
The bride and groom requested ‘All the small things’ by Blink 182 for the bride to make her entrance and the timings couldn’t have worked any better for her arrival. It’s so satisfying when we get to the end of the piece as the bride gets to the front. IYKYK 😉
I also particularly enjoyed playing ‘Pink Pony Club’ by Chappell Roan as a special surprise for the groom.
And there was CAKE!! 😋
So, all-in-all, a super day at work! 😊 🎻🎻🎻🎻

Last Saturday, we had a lovely day in the sun at Huntsham Court playing for an outside wedding. I think it might be the last hot wedding for this year, but you never know! 🤞
Tomorrow we’re at Rockbeare Manor playing for the ceremony and drinks after. I wonder if we’ll be outside or inside 🤔

Wedding Barn, Tedburn
01/09/2026
August ended with rain. Which is fantastic for a farmer, but not so much for a bride and groom hoping for an outdoor wedding. However, Windout Barn in Tedburn had it covered with its charming rustic barn. Even a few birds and the resident cats joined the wedding party! The quartet got the best view by playing on the mezzanine floor over looking the ceremony. (Although we did have to take the slightly scary spiral staircase to get to the loo!).
The bride and groom requested some epic gaming and movie pieces for before, during and after the ceremony; If you haven’t heard ‘Dearly Beloved’ from Kingdom Hearts before, google it, it’s beautiful. We also played The Game of Thrones theme, The Rains of Castamere (what a belter!!), Cantina band from Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark theme! It was so much fun playing these pieces in a fantastic acoustic.

Well, it’s been a busy week but on Friday we had the pleasure of playing for a lovely couple at The Deer Park Country House🦌. The weather held out for an outside ceremony and the quartet played “I Can’t help Falling in Love’ as the wedding party walked down the aisle amongst the lavender and then ‘Concerning Hobbits’ and ‘Wildest Dreams’ for the signing and ‘Marry You’ as the confetti was thrown. After the wedding, we had a break and some yummy sandwiches provided by the Deer Park and then we serenaded the guests during the wedding breakfast. We had a special request by a guest to play ‘Creep’ by Radiohead, which we did, and she danced. It was a beautiful, tender moment in a busy, celebratory, joyous day. 🎻🎻🎻🎻The Deer Park Country House Hotel
