Some of you already know I am stepping away from HCT Turf. Ahead of my last day in the office on Wednesday, I just want to say a heartfelt thank you to all our lovely customers and suppliers.

Most of all, thanks to the brilliant HCT Turf team, who have always been so wonderful throughout my years in the business.

Wishing Richard and Sharon every success for the future as they continue their journey with HCT Turf.

I will miss you all - but hope to bump into you along the way!

It’s lovely to see lawns greening up again. With the rain finally returning and grass growth picking up, it’s time to give your lawn a little TLC and help it recover from the dry summer before the cooler months arrive.

If your grass is now growing well, you should now restart mowing. Leaving it to become very long can weaken the lawn and make it harder to manage as growth slows later in the season.

However, resist the temptation to cut it really short. Your lawn is likely to still be recovering from the dry conditions.

You may find patchy areas which look like they need repairing, but perhaps wait for another few weeks before returfing, just to give it a chance.

You would not know that there had been a drought! Proof if you need it that you should never water grass if there is a water shortage. It will survive!
