October is made for warming drams, rich sherry casks, a touch of smoke and discovering something new.

🥃 RELEASE DAY — AND IT’S ALREADY GOING FAST! 🥃

The Lindores Abbey Friar John Cor Annual Release 2026 has landed at The Wh**ky Studio — and we only have very limited stock available.

This year’s release is something a little special…

🍷 Matured exclusively in Ruby Port casks
🥃 52.5% ABV
🍓 Rich strawberry & berry jam
🍇 Dates, figs & dark raisins
🍫 Dark chocolate
🌰 Marzipan & roasted almonds
✨ Vanilla, warming spice & dark sugar sweetness

A wonderfully rich, fruity and indulgent Lindores, with the Ruby Port casks bringing plenty of dark fruit, sweetness and spice before a long chocolatey finish.

The Friar John Cor releases honour the Lindores monk associated with the famous 1494 record of aqua vitae — regarded as the earliest written reference to Scotch wh**ky production.

🥃 RELEASE DAY TOMORROW – FRIAR JOHN ’26 🥃

One we’ve been looking forward to having at The Wh**ky Studio…

The new Lindores Abbey Friar John ’26 officially releases tomorrow, and we’re delighted to have a very limited number of bottles in stock.

We recently poured Friar John at one of our wh**ky tastings, where it proved very popular indeed — so we don’t expect our small allocation to hang around for long!

🍷 Fully matured in Ruby Port casks
🔥 52.5% ABV
🎨 Natural colour & non-chill filtered

Named in honour of Friar John Cor, the Lindores Abbey monk commissioned by King James IV in 1494 to make Aqua Vitae — the earliest written record associated with Scotch wh**ky.

Expect a wonderfully rich dram with dates, dark raisins, figs and berry jam, followed by strawberry jam, caramelised dates, dark chocolate, roasted almonds, vanilla and warming spice.

🥃 A BRILLIANT NIGHT OF LINDORES ABBEY WH**KY! 🥃

A huge thank you to John from Lindores Abbey Distillery for hosting a fantastic wh**ky tasting for us at Strathmore Rugby Club.

John took us through a brilliant selection from Lindores Abbey, sharing the stories, history and knowledge behind each dram.

We were also very lucky to get an early taste of the brand-new Friar John, ahead of its official release on 29th September! 👀🥃

As if that wasn’t enough, we also had the opportunity to sample some distillery-exclusive bottlings, as well as Lindores’ new make spirit — a great chance to taste the spirit before it begins its journey through maturation.

A big thank you to Strathmore Rugby Club for having us and providing such a great venue for the evening.

And most importantly, thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event. It was fantastic to see such a great turnout and a room full of people enjoying great wh**ky, good company and plenty of conversation.

🥃 A lovely day at Glen Clova Hotel! 🥂💍

A huge thank you to Glen Clova Hotel for having The Wh**ky Studio at their Wedding Open Day on Sunday.

It was lovely meeting so many couples and families, hearing about their wedding plans and hopefully giving them plenty of ideas and inspiration for their big day. ❤️

From wh**ky, gin, rum and ch*****ne gifts, miniatures for wedding favours, bridesmaid & best man gifts, handmade Cuban ci**rs, hen and stag celebrations, to our wh**ky tasting experiences 🥃 — there are lots of ways to add something a little different and memorable to your celebrations.
