🎶 What a busy couple of weeks for the band! 🎶

Scottish Week kept us very busy with a packed schedule of performances across Peterhead.

We started on Sunday 18th July by opening the Truck Show at Peterhead Academy before visiting the residents of Allendale Care Home around lunchtime. Later that afternoon, we had the pleasure of leading the Scottish Week floats parade through the town centre, followed by a visit to Grange Park Care Home.

It was especially lovely to return to Grange Park, where we have performed for many years. The residents always look forward to hearing the band, and it is a pleasure to play for them.

On Thursday 23rd July, we visited Windmill Care Home before performing at the Lido ahead of the evening drone show and fireworks.

The band then travelled down to Dumbarton on Saturday morning for the Scottish Championships, returning to Peterhead at 2am yesterday morning. Couple hours sleep before heading straight back out to play at the Peterhead Fire Station Open Day! Needless to say, we were absolutely shattered, but the organisers looked after us brilliantly with some delicious burgers. 🍔

July is always one of our busiest months for engagements, but it is incredibly rewarding to be out performing supporting so many events.

If you would like to come and hear us play, our next engagements are a little closer to home:

📅 Belgar Gala — 8th August
📅 New Pitsligo Gala Sunday — 9th August

We hope to see you there! 🎵

🎶 Stonehaven Highland Games 2026 🎶

What a thoroughly enjoyable day for the band at the Stonehaven Highland Games!

This was a new competition held in partnership with the RSPBA North of Scotland Branch, and it was a fantastic event to be part of. The band had our first run-out with our new MSR, which provided valuable preparation ahead of our travels to the Scottish Championships at Dumbarton next Saturday.

We were also delighted to take part in the afternoon entertainment, playing a few sets for the public and helping to add to the atmosphere of a great day.

The band were absolutely chuffed to receive some very positive comments from the judges and to pick up Best Band at the Stonehaven Highland Games!

EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT: PIPE BAND DISPLAY 🎼

It wouldn't be Scottish Week without having Pipe Bands at our events!

As well as leading the Carnival Parade, the Pipe Bands will also appear at the Truck & Van Show, Picnic in the Park, and have a display at the Lido Car Park on the Thursday evening.

We will also endevour to visit the Care Homes in Peterhead if at all possible.

European Pipe Band Champions 2026

Yesterday we had a very long but enjoyable day at the European Pipe Band Championships in Perth! We really enjoyed our performance and are proud of the effort put in by everyone in the band.

Congratulations to all the North East bands who made the prize lists in their respective grades. A special mention must go to Buchan Peterson on winning the European Drumming title in Grade 2.

Now it's back to work as we look ahead to our next competitions at Stonehaven Highland Games and the Scottish Championships in Dumbarton at the end of July.

The band also has a busy few weeks ahead with several engagements coming up, starting next Saturday at the Peterhead Relay for Life. We look forward to seeing plenty of familiar faces there raising money for such an important cause.

Today both bands were out competing in the sunshine at the Aberdeen Highland Games.

Our Grade 4 band continues to gain experience with each competition and put on a great performance, earning 7th place.

Our Grade 3 band was also pleased with their performance, securing 2nd place as they look ahead to the upcoming European Pipe Band Championships next Saturday in Perth.

Well done to all of our players and supporters for another fantastic day! Well done to Tyler & Lynne making their first competition with the G4 band!

We had the best afternoon at the Bressuire Petanque club!

Thanks again for the hospitality!
