It feels like we only just finished talking about Windows 10 reaching the end of support, but the clock is ticking again.

Microsoft officially ended standard support for Windows 10 last October 2025 , which we talked about at the time.

For businesses that weren’t quite ready to move everything across to Windows 11, Extended Security Updates (ESU) provided some breathing room and meant eligible machines could continue receiving critical and important security updates.

But that first year of extended support ends on 13th October, which is only a few weeks away now.

If you are still running any Windows 10 devices, now is the time to resolve that.

Because they’re considered insecure, which leaves you vulnerable to cybersecurity attacks, given that they’re no longer in support.

If you’ve kept a machine because it runs a particular piece of software, this is the time to review it and make sure you’re safe and secure.

From a cybersecurity point of view, forgotten devices are exactly the sort of thing you don’t want hanging around unnoticed, which is why we’re so keen on proactive IT management.

It’s not simply about fixing somebody’s laptop when it stops working, it’s about knowing exactly what’s in your environment, keeping on top of changes like this and having a plan before deadlines become problems.

If you’re not completely sure how many Windows 10 devices you still have, whether they’re properly covered or what your next step should be, we’d be happy to take a look and give you a second opinion.
