🏆🔥 SEPTEMBER PLAYER OF THE MONTH 🔥🏆

SARAH BRAIDWOOD 🏉

Got it in July… and she’s only gone and done it again! 👀

Sarah has had a cracking month, stepping up and taking on new responsibilities in the front row and showing exactly what she’s capable of.

Two games. Two standout performances. 💥

Her commitment, flexibility and work rate have been class, and she’s quickly become someone the team can rely on when it matters.

Always willing to step up, get stuck in and put in the graft for the team. 💪

🏉 HELP VICTORIA GIVE THE VETSFEST TOTAL ONE FINAL PUSH! 🏉

Tomorrow, our Club Secretary, Irvine Ladies player and founding member of Irvine Ladies, Victoria, is heading down south to pull her boots on for VetsFest and raise money for Wooden Spoon.

She’ll be playing for the Lakes and Dales team alongside women she first met through rugby 31–32 years ago — women who became like big sisters, picking her up and taking her to training and matches.

That’s what rugby can bring. It’s far more than what happens during 80 minutes on the pitch. It gives us friendships that last for decades, a community that looks after its own and a place to belong — whether you’re playing, coaching, volunteering or standing on the touchline.

Wooden Spoon is the children’s charity of rugby, funding projects across the UK and Ireland that support children and young people with disabilities or facing disadvantage. It uses the strength of the rugby family to help young people play, learn, thrive and stay safe.

For Victoria, rugby remains a regular part of life from August to April. For many of the women taking part tomorrow, this is their one weekend of the year to strap the boots back on, play together and celebrate everything this sport has brought into their lives.

The Lakes and Dales team has already raised over £4,000, but there’s still time to add to that total.

⏰ The final fundraising total will be counted at 11.59am tomorrow — Saturday 26 September.

Even a couple of pounds will help support a brilliant rugby charity and the young people who benefit from its work.

🏆💙 A WELL-DESERVED AWARD FOR BRIAN 💙🏆

A huge congratulations to our founding Irvine Ladies coach, Brian Reid, who was recently presented with the Long Service & Dedication Award at the Harbour Ayrshire Hero Awards. 👏

Brian has been part of Irvine Ladies from the very beginning, coaching us through the development leagues and helping us along the way to where we are today, competing in West 2. 🏉

And his commitment doesn’t stop at rugby. Brian gives up a huge amount of his own time to support Harbour Ayrshire and other community initiatives.

If you’ve been around Irvine during the festive season, you’ll probably also recognise Brian in a slightly different role… 🎅😂 He regularly dons the Santa suit, helping to make sure local children can enjoy a visit with Santa without it costing their families a penny.

He’s a busy man who somehow always finds time to help others — whether that’s on the rugby pitch, in the community or behind the scenes.

Congratulations Brian! A brilliant recognition of the time, effort and dedication you put into both Irvine Rugby and the wider community. 💙🏉👏
