🧵🌿 **She’s here! Leeds Calico Dress **

Today at Leeds City Library we began creating new pieces for the Leeds Calico Dress, in collaboration with WOVEN.

Over the next month, we’re inviting people to add their own small fabric patch to this evolving artwork

You don’t need to be an experienced stitcher — just bring your ideas and imagination! Materials and inspiration are available from the Art Library.

Every patch adds another story to the dress, creating a colourful celebration of the people and communities of Leeds. ❤️

As part of our Leeds 400 exhibition at City Library, we want to invite you to contribute to our memory map of Leeds city centre.

Just add a note to our interactive map and you'll take a permanent place in Leeds history as part of our permanent local history collection. Who knows, maybe your memories will be part of Leeds 500!

The Children's Library at Leeds City Library will move back to the ground floor early in October. It's not quite finished yet - there's more refurbishment to come, including new furniture and a few exciting surprises! But we wanted to welcome you back in to enjoy the new space (and toilet!) soon.

Leeds Other Stories: Join Our Community Cast Join us for Leeds Other Stories, a vibrant community theatre project in Leeds City Library by Fall Into Place Theatre.

Yeadon Library and Community Hub will be temporarily closed from 12pm, Friday 9 October to 12pm, Monday 19 October for the final stage of the refurbishment.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope you enjoy the new library when it reopens.
