Based on a short story by Rose Tremain~ two teenage best friends grapple with the challenges of girlhood — friendship, boys, studies, and growing up — and embark on their school project, falling in love.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at Leeds Playhouse for It’s Grin Up North last night for an evening of comedy, conversation and connections with Yorkshire’s creative community.

It was brilliant to see some new faces from the latest ScriptEd cohort joining in for converastion, building new connections and the sharing of ideas. We were lucky enough to enjoy a fantastic set from the brilliant Seeta Wrightson to round off the evening.

Thanks to everyone who came along and to Leeds Playhouse for having us.

Today we are remembering Colin Egglestone, the beloved veteran member of Bradford Movie Makers and star of 'A Bunch of Amateurs', who recently passed away at the age of 93.

Colin joined Bradford Movie Makers in 1976. Founded 94 years ago, it is one of the world’s oldest amateur filmmaking clubs and was the focus of the BAFTA-longlisted documentary A Bunch of Amateurs, directed by Kim Hopkins and screened worldwide. Kim described Colin as the 'beating heart' of Bradford Movie Makers💛

We were incredibly proud to support A Bunch of Amateurs, and like audiences across the globe, were captivated by Colin’s warmth and lifelong dedication to cinema.

Our thoughts are with Colin’s family, friends, and everyone at Bradford Movie Makers 🎞

👉 A group of young film programmers local to Sheffield have curated a screening exploring online culture and identity in the digital age

The screening, called 'Chronically Online: A Personal History of the UK Internet', is taking place next Tuesday 29 September, 6.30pm at Showroom Cinema 🎞️

They'll be taking you down their own favourite internet rabbit holes in a programme of vlogs, memes, and uncategorisable curiosities...
