HEEEEREEEE’S JOHNNNNNY!
•
Another mercurial signing! Johnny truly is a unique creation, impossible to find on social media, no known history but a fantastic tache and mullet combination meant we knew we had to keep him
•
Fun fact. On GMS his next of kin reads: “Faf De Klerk is the closest you’ll get”
•
He’s already impressed in pre-season and we’re excited to see more this year!
The bomb squad just wouldn’t be the bomb squad without a bit of flair and unpredictability
•
Frankenstein has created our very own Henry Pillock!
•
Reintroducing Harvey Ruston or Witcher to those that know him. Capable of lung bursting runs, a lineout general, and also the first know case of gout in a 23 year old, he really is the man for all occasions
•
We look forward to Harvey doing his bits on the pitch and behind the bar again this year
This time we needed something new from Frankenstein, and after a couple of reworks we finally got the finished model!
•
Introducing Charlie Yates who arrives from Wetherby where he was captain, coach, kitman and caretaker. A mercurial utility back with pace, strength and also a budding DJ, Charlie has slotted in beautifully since arriving
•
It was always going to be tough to get him out of that Wetherby shirt but with a bit of work from Frankenstein we got him and can’t wait to see him in the lineup this season

After a huge slog of fundraising, massive support from Sport England, the RFL, our loyal members and fans as well as a MASSIVE donation from our amazing sponsor Morley Glass we are pleased to announce the arrival of Millie the Mower! May she tend the pitches for Town and the Mamba's for years to come!
We’ve seen everyone announcing “signing” players old & new all summer but here at Moortown we do things differently
•
We’ve got Dr Frankenstein and his glamorous assistant out of the closet to beef up the squad…
•
…starting with last season’s most improved improved Liam Meek
A baller of the highest tier with dazzling footwork. We’ve enlarged his ears in the hope that this year he may listen to his coaches
•
They even included enough brain cells to enable him to login to GMS and re-register for the 26/27 season

Today, we say goodbye to a truly unforgettable voice. Bonnie Tyler’s music was more than a collection of songs—it was the soundtrack to countless memories, moments of hope, love, heartbreak, and celebration. Her unmistakable voice carried a power and emotion that touched generations across the world.
Though she has left us, her music will continue to inspire and comfort, reminding us that great artists never truly fade away. Her legacy will live on every time “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” “Holding Out for a Hero,” or “It’s a Heartache” fills a room and stirs our hearts. A true favourite down at Moortown RUFC changing rooms post game, we will continue to belt out her songs with gusto win or lose.
Our deepest condolences go to her husband, family, friends, and the millions of fans whose lives she enriched through her extraordinary talent. Thank you, Bonnie, for sharing your gift with the world. You will be deeply missed, but your voice will echo forever.
Rest in peace, Bonnie Tyler.
Introducing your first team for the inaugural Moortown 7s tournament… Viper 7s and they’re striking hard with teams in both the Men’s & Women’s events
•
In their own words:
Vipers was newly formed in 2025, pulling lads and lasses together from the North East to play 7’s.
We’re proud to represent Alice House Hospice, who we raise awareness and funds for during our 7’s season. This is our second year together as a group, with us being able to put 4 teams out at most comps, proving how much we’re building.
We’re a youthful team, but always looking to push against some of the best local talent we can. We’re throughly looking forward to competing at Moortown for the first time and wish all the other teams the best of luck, it’s set to be a great day

We can’t wait to see you in action guys & gals
