♻️ Year 5 & 6 children were invited to the Department of Environment and Geography, University of York to present their sustainability ideas.
The pupils from Clifton Green Primary School in York have been undertaking a project, where they have been exploring creative, sustainable ways to benefit their school community.
Dr. Truzaar Dordi, Lecturer in Sustainability management at the University, invited the children for a trip to the campus, where they explored the department, York Campus and met lots of interesting people!
The day culminated with the children their ideas to a panel made up of representatives from the Department of Environment and Geography and members of York Cares, a charity supporting Carbon Reduction.
Presentations included ideas to conserve water; stop car idling in and around the school, during school drop off and educate local families at what they can do to to support UK birds and wildlife.
With thanks to the University of York team, especially Dr. Truzaar and Hannah and Caitlin from York Cares.

♻️ 🐟 Impactful pieces of art were created at The Sheffield College as part of ‘Big Green Week’.
🌎 IVE were delighted to run a 3 day for the Art students, exploring how to use art to promote climate awareness via interactive social action experiences.
👏 Congratulations to the students for creating such imaginative pieces, they certainly inspired reflection from the expert panel:
“I love this as an art piece, that you’ve brought it to me - my plate, my fish, my rubbish. Powerful and relevant.”
“This is powerful artwork, which really makes it personal - there’s no ‘away’ when we throw things. Very well thought out.”
Thanks to:
Judith Harry from Site Gallery and isabella carreras Claudia Lastra from Arts Catalyst for being expert speakers and part of the final panel discussions.
