Beechley Stables RDA
Beechley Stables Riding for the Disabled Group is based in Allerton, Liverpool. We provide fun and therapy for disabled children and adults.
Beechley Stables RDA is part of the National Riding for the Disabled Association. We are based in Liverpool (North West England) and provide riding lessons for disabled adults and children from the ages of 6+. Medical professionals recognise that there are significant therapeutic benefits for the rider. The warmth and three dimensional movement of the horse is transmitted through the riders body, gradually making it more relaxed and supple, reducing spasms and improving balance, posture and co-ordination. For children and adults with disabilities, the companionship of animals is particularly invaluable, as many have trouble making connections to people. This emotional therapy is as important as the physical therapy riding can provide. ANIMAL ACTIVITY LICENCE NO: LCC/AAL29

We are thankful to receive woodchip for our trails but the hard job is getting it shifted. Our Sunday volunteers Caitlin and Gabriel moved a fair bit today on to our small trail. Great job you two.

It's that time of year when we say a fond farewell to some of our volunteers as they move on to pastures new! This week we're saying goodbye to Abby, Chloe and Niamh. Abby is off to Racing college, Chloe to her 2nd Yr of veterinary studies and Niamh to her 1st Yr of veterinary. Thank you all so much for the hard work and dedication you've given to us here at Beechley. We wish you all the best of luck and hope to see you all again soon ❤ 🐎

Beechley Stables RDA was pleased to host a visit from British Equestrian and throughout the day were able to showcase some of our services. Activities included riding, grooming and stable work and time spent discussing and outlining our bespoke programmes. Many of our participants are engaging in a form social precribing that naturally lowers stress, builds motor skills , improves communucation and confidence and establishes meaningful routines outside standard clinical settings. Beechley Stables RDA is providing evidence for surveys and research comissions to show the benefits and positive outcomes of using equine interactions and equestrian programmes to improve wellbeing and mental health. This area needs funding and recognition as an alternative intervention. Please support your local equestrian centre.
🐴 We recently visited Beechley Stables RDA, a Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) and British Horse Society centre in Liverpool and came away feeling incredibly inspired by the amazing work being delivered by the team and their dedicated volunteers.
💚 As we celebrate National Inclusion Week, Beechley Stables is a fantastic example of what inclusion in action looks like. Supporting disabled people and those with a range of complex needs, they're making a life-changing difference through the power of horses, helping to improve physical and mental wellbeing for so many.
Their work is a powerful reminder that equestrianism is so much more than a sport, it's a support network full of opportunities.
