On this sunny Saturday, we are reminiscing on our Platinum garden won BBC Gardeners' World Live this June. Relaxed woodland and cottage planting and a world of adventure.

Our design studio is busy-ing up with new projects - it’s a great time to plan and plant a garden, why not get in touch? 🌱💚🌱

Whilst there has been a bit of rain, there’s no doubt that everything is still very dry.

It’s why mulching your flower beds, planters and pots can make a real difference. Putting a layer of mulch over your plants not only helps retain moisture in the ground, but it also helps suppress weeds and - in some cases - adds more nutrients to the soil too. And it tidys everything up too.

Our favourite mulches to consider are:

🟢 Finely shredded or composted bark

🟢 Your own or shop bought peat-free compost

🟢 Dry straw (not green grass cuttings)

🟢 A fine gravel

All of the above do the job, with some more aesthetic than others. But they can all make a difference in helping sustain your plants in drier months.

We’ll be honest, this year has been tough - it was always going to be after a bumper 2025 and we are working so hard everyday to make Dig a success.

We are always learning, always striving, always trying to be better - sometimes with success, sometimes not. But we are so grateful for all your support - you guys are what makes Dig so rewarding, even in challenging times and endless heatwaves!

Had a lovely morning revamping and rejuvenating pots and planters for a pub in London. We got some bespoke planters and window boxes made and painted the same colour as the pub’s exterior and filled them with aromatic, lush, evergreen planting. The only thing missing was a cold pint 🍺
