COSRT and S*xual and Relationship Therapy Research Hour is back!

Join us on 17 December for Case Conceptualisation and Treatment Planning with Consensually Non-Monogamous Clients, a research learning session led by Caitlyn Burns, PhD.

Drawing on her original doctoral research, Cait will explore how assumptions about monogamy can shape therapists’ understanding of clients and their treatment plans, even when they intend to treat consensually non-monogamous clients in the same way as anyone else.

This focused session will introduce the study, its findings and what they may mean for ethical, affirming practice. There’ll also be time to discuss the research and reflect on its relevance to your own work.

17 Dec 26: Case Conceptualisation and Treatment Planning with Consensually Non-Monogamous Clients | COSRTlearn Explore original research into how relational therapists conceptualise cases and plan treatment with consensually non-monogamous (CNM) clients, and how assumptions about monogamy may shape clinical practice.

Before supervision models were standard in psychos*xual therapy, someone asked a vital question: What actually happens in psychos*xual supervision?

In 2001, Elisabeth Lawrence explored this in research with supervisors from BASRT-approved training courses. Her study, one of the first of its kind, led to a supervision model designed specifically for psychos*xual work.

BASRT is now COSRT. As we mark 50 years, we’re continuing to ask how we train and support therapists, and uphold standards for the next generation.

Drawing on more than 40 years of S*xual and Relationship Therapy, Dr Twist will explore the development of the journal, the evidence underpinning psychos*xual and relationship therapies, and whose knowledge has historically been included or overlooked.
