What are you really afraid of?
Not the vague version.
The specific one.
Failing?
Being judged by other people?
Making the wrong choice?
Finding out that even after having the courage to change, things still won’t turn out the way you hoped?
I spent years putting things off because of fears that, looking back, seem almost ridiculous.
And I’ve learned three things:
1️⃣ Give your fear a name.
Not “I’m scared.”
“I’m scared of X.”
2️⃣ Ask yourself what would actually happen.
What’s the worst that could really happen if you failed?
Most of the time, reality is far less frightening than the story we create in our heads.
3️⃣ Take the first step before you feel ready.
Because confidence doesn’t come before you start.
It comes from walking.
The sunset doesn’t solve anything.
But sometimes all it takes is to stop, look at things from a different perspective, and remind yourself that the fear that seemed so enormous…
maybe isn’t quite as big as you thought.
So what the f**k are you afraid of?
Save this for the next time you find yourself putting off something you already know you want to do.
STOP SCROLLING, save this for your next visit to León 🇪🇸
Doing the Camino de Santiago?
Or simply travelling through northern Spain?
Here are 5 things you should do in León, and not all of them involve walking with a backpack. 😉
☕️ 1. Chocolate con churros
Start at Antigua Churrería, around 15 minutes from the cathedral. Traditional, simple and absolutely worth the walk.
⛪️ 2. León Cathedral
One of Spain’s great Gothic cathedrals, famous for its incredible stained-glass windows. When the sunlight comes through them, the whole interior changes.
🏛️ 3. Casa Botines
Gaudí in León. One of his few works outside Catalonia, and definitely worth stopping to admire.
🎨 4. MUSAC
León’s contemporary art museum. And if you’re a pilgrim, entry is only €1. But you don’t need to be doing the Camino to visit.
🍴 5. Tapas. Then more tapas.
León might be one of the best places to eat your way through Spain without destroying your wallet. The tapas are generous, local and ridiculously affordable.
📌 SAVE THIS for your León trip.
Because León isn’t just somewhere you pass through on the way to Santiago.
It deserves a stop.
More Camino stops, Spanish food and places worth discovering coming soon.
6.5 hours.
Alone.
Not a single soul.
I talked to birds today….again!
Actual conversations. I’m not even embarrassed.
And then, there it was.
The village.
The end of today’s walk, finally in sight.
I screamed. Like, genuinely screamed. No one was around to judge me, so I let it all out.
That’s the Camino in one sentence: hours of nothing, then one view that makes you lose your mind with joy.
Day 14. Walking through vineyards, alone with this thought.
“For all the times you’ve been afraid, remember where it led you to overcome it.”
Fear isn’t the enemy people make it out to be.
It’s just a signal that something worth doing is on the other side of it.
I was afraid to leave London.
Afraid to walk alone across a country.
Afraid of who I’d find at the end of all these steps.
Still here.
Still walking.

Day 13.
Every step out here is me trying to close that gap, between who I settled into being, and who I actually could be if I stopped making excuses.
No dramatic realization today. Just miles, heat, and this thought looping in my head.
Maybe that’s enough for one day.
Day 12
Just full of crystal clear deep incredible blue sky.
Best therapy in the world: allow yourself to Feel
Just something I forgot for way too long
Day 10
Some views make you understand why “later” is the most dangerous word in the world.
This is why I left London.
Not to escape anything, to stop postponing everything.
04/08/2026
At 52, I left London.
Not because I was running away, but because I forgot what does it mean “be me”.
Every journey begins with the courage to close one door and open another.
As I look out of this train window, I’m looking ahead.
The best may still be yet to come.
Oh yeah…
The best may still be yet to come.
