To circle back to the title slide - multivitamins won’t work to treat Androgenic Alopecia (such as PMOS, Female Pattern Hair Loss and Male Pattern Hair Loss) because these are all hormonal disorders. Which multivitamins will not affect.
For hormonal hair loss I recommend seeing an Endocrinologist, or possibly a trichologist to start. But they may well refer you to an endocrinologist.
Please share this. This hair loss ‘trend’ is preying on the vulnerable and isn’t fair. Education is key.

For women experiencing hair loss due to Female Pattern Hair Loss or Androgenic Alopecia, please see a medical professional such as an Endocrinologist to explore treatments.
It’s important this message is shared and vulnerable people are no longer exploited by product companies making big claims and big promises.
Love, from a trichologist trying to make a difference 🙂
Sorry it’s a long video, but I’m so sick of the fear mongering we see every year and wanted to explain it properly.
Don’t rush out and buy a ‘miracle scalp serum’ or whatever, learn the facts and protect your hair and scalp.

So many crackin tunes to choose from for this post. Who’d have thought it.
Hair Growth and Loss teaches you allllll you need to know to maximise hair growth, and what to do when it’s NOT going so well.
In person: 8th November (Trichology for Hairdressers)
Online: Download on demand 🙂
Obviously you can sell them shampoo and supplements if you want, but please DO NOT do so as any kind of attempted solution to their hair loss or hair thinning.
It’s a waste of time, it’s potentially dangerous, and isn’t benefitting ANYONE other than the product manufacturers.
Please trust me on this. I’m actively destroying brand relationships by sharing the truth 🙃🥲 but it MATTERS.

Slide 1: Hooray! We flimmin’ well did it! And no it’s not who you think in the background 😂
Slide 2: Please disregard the choice of music. We DO need education. Kindly continue to book our courses please and thank you 🙃
Slide 3: my long term partner in crime Michael James . If you haven’t partied with him, you’re missing out. If you have partied with him, you’re probably missing.
Slide 4: Instagram v reality. I am a thumb and he is that guy from men in black desperate for more sugar water.
1. BOTH! Alopecia is just a medical term for hair loss, so although you might associate it with bald patches like those seen in Alopecia Areata, it includes both female and male pattern hair loss, Telogen effluvium and much more.
2. Biotin is one of the most commonly used ingredients in hair growth pills but the vast majority of the time it is doing nothing to help you. Rosemary oil won’t grow your hair back or make it grow faster. And microneedling poses risk of hair and skin damage if not done by a professional so put that roller away. It’s also very unlikely to solve a hair loss problem alone.
3. Weight loss medications often lead to a type of hair loss but it’s not the drug itself that’s thought to cause it so much as what the drug causes YOU to DO. High fever and illness CAN absolutely cause hair loss, usually around 3 months after the illness. And sulphates are not causing your hair to fall out so you can relax there 😌
If this kind of info gets you buzzing then come spend a day with me on a hair loss course specifically designed for hairdressers (by me) 🙂
It’s 10-4 on Sunday 8th November in London and is £250. If this doesn’t work for you but you still want to learn then have a look at the online options.
We’re not about pricey courses that only the rich and childless can afford so there’s always something for everyone xx

I am so excited about this. This is the course I was looking for for YEARS became a trichologist myself, and was working behind the chair constantly being asked questions I didn’t have answers to.
It’s what prompted me to study trichology.
And it’s what inspires me to create specific courses for hairdressers on this now.
I do lots of online courses but sometimes that’s not quite enough, at least not for some people. And I think a lot of hairdressers tend to learn better in person.
So HOPEFULLY you’re as excited as I am, and will book on so we can keep running more of these AND explore even more topics 😀
Booking is via the Humankind Hair academy website, link’s in the bio obvs, and honestly if you’re someone who always asks loads of questions and wants to know WHY about everything hair sciencey then this is SUCH a bit of you.
Please share so we can book it up! 🙏❤️

Additionally: it’s NOT a result of poor hygiene, nor is it contagious.
It CAN be aggravated by certain fragrances, cosmetic ingredients, weather changes, hormonal fluctuations and medications.
It may be mild, moderate or severe, and sometimes requires medical care from a GP or Dermatologist.
It is not the job of a hairdresser to treat or to diagnose, but we CAN support our clients by being KNOWLEDGEABLE.
