Simple biohacks for midlife women
Less overwhelm. Better health.
This is one of those meals that looks almost too simple to share… but that’s exactly why I’m sharing it. 👇
🥚 4 hard-boiled eggs
🐟 1 tin of tuna in olive oil
🥑 A generous spoonful of 100% avocado-oil mayo
🧂 Salt + pepper
That’s it.
But nutritionally, it packs a lot into one bowl: protein, healthy fats, omega-3s and plenty of vitamins and minerals, the kind of combination that actually fills you up and helps keep your energy steady rather than leaving you hunting for something else an hour later.
I usually pile mine onto toasted sourdough and call it lunch. And, importantly, my kids love it too. And that’s always a win. 😂
It’s also one of those recipes you can make differently every time.
Sometimes I add avocado + tomatoes.
Sometimes red onion or spring onion.
Sometimes chilli for a bit of heat. 🌶️
Sometimes I swap the tuna for salmon.
Nothing complicated. No obscure “wellness” ingredients. Just real food that tastes good and happens to be really nourishing.
Simple food > perfect food. Always.
Save this for the next time you’re staring into the fridge wondering what to make. 🤍
Ooh and added bonus, this keeps a few days in the fridge 👌🏻
Doctor: “IT’S PROBABLY STRESS.”
Possibly.
Because stress absolutely can affect digestion.
Your brain and gut are constantly communicating, which is why a stressful day can sometimes show up in your stomach before you’ve even realised how stressed you are.
But here’s what I wish more women knew:
Midlife digestion isn’t a one-variable equation.
Hormonal changes may be part of the picture.
So can:
→ constipation
→ sleep
→ stress
→ how quickly you eat
→ what you eat
→ fibre intake
→ hydration
→ movement
Which is why I’m wary of both extremes:
❌ “It’s just stress.”
AND
❌ “It’s definitely your hormones.”
Your body deserves more curiosity than that.
And if you’ve developed new or persistent bloating or digestive symptoms, don’t automatically write them off as perimenopause either. Get them checked.
For everything else?
Start supporting the basics before trying another extreme protocol.

And send this to the friend whose stomach seems to have developed its own personality since turning 40. 🙋🏼♀️
Sometimes we just need to remind ourselves, we’re doing the best we can and that is good enough. 🫶🏻

Who can relate? 👀
I was talking to a friend yesterday who said she’s in menopause. I told her I’m not quite there yet, but then we went through a list of suspected symptoms… 🙃
Anyone else feel like she’s not there yet, but possibly in denial? 😂🤔
