On Sunday 11th October, our amazing runners will be taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise vital funds for The Maypole Project — and we need YOU to help them smash it! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💜

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our cheer squad and help keep our runners’ spirits high as they tackle those 13.1 miles. Your cheers, signs, smiles and encouragement could be just the boost they need to keep going! 🙌📣

On Tuesday 25 August, representatives from The Maypole Project were honoured to attend Bromley Civic Centre for a very special cheque presentation.

During his mayoral year 2025-26, Councillor Jonathan Andrews, alongside Theresa Andrews, chose The Maypole Project as one of his nominated charities. Throughout the year, a series of fantastic fundraising events were held, raising funds for children and young people with complex medical needs and their families.

We were delighted to receive a cheque for £15,645.42, which as well as additional direct donations made through Just Giving and a generous donation from the Parish of Pratts Bottom and Green Street Green brings the total raised to an amazing £17,752.98, an incredible amount that will help us continue providing vital support, therapy services and activities to families across our community.

This remarkable donation will help us continue making a real difference to the lives of children and young people with complex medical needs and the families who love and care for them.

Whilst Councillor Jonathan Andrews' mayoral term has now come to an end, we remain enormously grateful for the commitment, enthusiasm and support shown throughout the year. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to both Councillor Jonathan Andrews and Theresa Andrews for championing The Maypole Project and helping us raise awareness of our work 💜

🐾 Happy International Dog Day! 🐾

Today we’re celebrating some of the furry friends who are regular visitors to The Maypole Project office! 🐶❤️

We all know how much joy our dogs bring us, but they can also be a huge source of comfort, companionship and support when times are tough. Whether it’s a wagging tail, a reassuring cuddle or simply having a four-legged friend by your side, dogs can do wonders for our mental health and help keep our spirits high.

We absolutely love the energy, fun and positivity they bring to the office whenever they visit! 🐕✨

Could your corporate team lend a helping hand? 🌱

We’re looking for corporate volunteers to join us at The Maypole Project for some hands-on volunteering! 💜

We currently have two opportunities for teams to get involved:

🌳🪴🌻 PROJECT GARDEN
Our garden has seen lots of overgrowth over the summer, and we’re planning to transform it into an additional sensory space alongside our sensory cabin.

We’re looking for teams to help us:
🌿 Cut back overgrown plants and bushes
🌱 Tackle weeds
🪴 Tidy and clear the space
🔎 Highlight areas needing further attention

We’ve applied for funding to get brand new decking to ensure the area is safe and accessible, and your help to spruce and tidy will get us one step closer to creating this fantastic space!

🫧🧴 SUPER SANITISERS
We’re also looking for teams to help with a quarterly deep clean of our therapy spaces.

We regularly clean our toys and resources, but a full sanitisation is a big job that needs lots of hands. It’s vital in helping us keep our therapy spaces safe for the children and young people we support, many of whom have lowered immunity.

Due to therapy sessions taking place at our office, we currently have limited flexibility on dates and are hoping to arrange volunteer days on
Wednesday afternoons.

We’ll provide the essentials to keep you going — tea, coffee and biscuits! ☕🍪 — and would love to show you around our spaces and introduce you to our team.

We’re over halfway through our summer outings at The Maypole Project, and we’re having such a brilliant time! 💜

So far, we’ve been sailing, visiting the ponies, exploring around Tilgate Park Zoo and climbing at Reach Climbing Centre.

We still have two more fun-filled weeks of outings to look forward to, and we’re so excited to see what the rest of the summer brings! ☀️

We launched our summer campaign, highlighting our support of a "Lifeline for a Lifetime" at The Maypole Project at the start of July 💜

But what does a “lifeline for a lifetime” really mean?

As a team, we’ve been reflecting on what this means to us — and at its heart, it’s about being there for Maypole families at every step of their journey.

🌱 Supporting families as their needs change and evolve
🤝 Having the freedom to access support whenever it’s needed
🔄 Being able to dip in and out of support at different points in the journey
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Support that grows alongside families, and for all family members
🎈 A youth club that isn’t capped when a young person turns 18
🌉 Supporting young people and families through the transition into adulthood

Essentially, once a Maypole family, always a Maypole family.

Because a lifeline shouldn’t have an expiry date. It should be something you can reach for whenever you need it.
