Imran Khan - Fitness Pioneer in South Asia

Long before “fitness culture” became a global phenomenon, Imran Khan understood something that many athletes came to recognise much later:
Fitness is not simply about appearance. It is about endurance, discipline and performance.
Even approaching 70, Imran Khan was known to maintain an extraordinarily demanding workout routine - combining steep treadmill walking with weight training, chest and shoulder presses, lateral pulls, dumbbell curls, chest flies and leg exercises.
His workouts were intense, focused and largely self-directed.
And perhaps that should not come as a surprise.
As Pakistan’s greatest sportsman, Imran understood that physical conditioning could make the difference between talent and sustained performance. He was also a pioneer in introducing a more complete fitness-training approach for cricketers at a time when structured athletic conditioning was far less developed than it is today.

There is something fascinating about watching these images today.
The face may have changed with time, but the mindset is unmistakable.
