This month our host Billy Reeves caught up with Bruce Soord and Gleb Kolyadin

We hear from Bruce on his latest studio album Ghosts In The Park, his most unguarded and emotionally direct work, shaped and informed by the long, drawn out death of his Father and his Mother’s ongoing Alzheimer’s. It is intense and beautiful, bare and unpredictable, aural grief in motion, amplifying the sudden surfacing of memory and the determination we all carry. Plus they discuss art-as-politics, AI versus AI slop, the decline of market towns, and his early days in his “funky-rock” student band under the arches in Leicester with his best friend and musical collaborator Jon Sykes.

A famed pianist and half of Iamthemorning, Gleb Kolyadin also appears on Bruce’s album - they talk about Gleb’s personal and emotional involvement with the project and his reworking of the material into the Earbook second CD/album in its own right ‘Shipwrecks in the Harbour’, the hours he feels most inspired and, now as he lives in the UK, has he finally been to the chip shop?

Ozric Tentacles return with their new studio album Harmonic Mind on 18th September.

Harmonic Mind, the band's 17th studio album, is another welcome chapter in the band’s ever-evolving story. Named after the geometric structure and harmonic nature of existence, the album sees the Ozrics once again weaving together soaring guitar melodies, intricate rhythms, lush synth textures and deep, hypnotic grooves into the kind of free-flowing psychedelic odyssey that has become their trademark.

Recorded at the band's home studios as it gradually took shape across Scotland, Devon and finally Glastonbury, Harmonic Mind also captures something a little different. Featuring the full touring line-up - including drummer Pat Garvey, bassist Corey Wallace, percussionist Paul Hankin and multi-instrumentalist Saskia Maxwell - the album has a natural energy that reflects the chemistry of the band's live performances, with each player bringing their own voice to the music.

On her inspiration behind the new track, Maiah shared “I wrote this song in a moment of overwhelm. Music has always been a calming presence in my life and has helped guide me through some of the most difficult moments. I remember sitting down with a guitar on the verge of a panic attack, and playing harmonics and reaching an almost meditative state while writing this track. It's all about breathing through and working through anxiety. I wanted the music to find a balance between that storm of energy and the release of a calming breath.”
