There were surprises from M&S, but Alexander McQueen has to be my ultimate favourite; he would have been proud of his house continuing his legacy.
From my Punjabi neighbours, to Nigerian co-workers sharing their music with me, so many different cultures have shaped who I am today.
I’m paying homage to all of these people in my collection, stitch by stitch.

Lace has been smuggled across borders, banned by royal decree, compared in value to gold and land, and built into entire economies from the skills of women that history almost entirely forgot to record.
From the simultaneous invention of needle lace in Venice and bobbin lace in Flanders in the early 16th century, to the moment the machine arrived and changed everything. Today handmade lace is rare, a skill in decline, and incredibly special if you still happen to witness it.

These stunning beaded fabrics I saw at really took me back to what originally started POWAH - beautiful Indian saris that I had collected, that have been sitting unseen for years! My first idea was to turn them into intimates, and I hope one day I can offer this as one-of-a-kind pieces, however for now POWAH has developed into it’s own collection inspired by such textiles.
