There is value in meeting face to face.
But how much?
Episode 9 of The Travel Disruptor digs into the role in-person relationships still play in a travel industry that is becoming increasingly digital.
Trade shows, lunches, meetings, handshakes and personal networks have always helped build trust. But they also take time, money and energy, and the industry now has more ways than ever to start, nurture and grow relationships online.
So the question isn’t whether in-person matters.
It’s when it matters most.
For some conversations, digital is faster and more efficient. For others, sitting across the table from someone can still move trust forward in a way a screen struggles to replicate.

What keeps a customer coming back: the relationship, or the result?
Episode 9 of The Travel Disruptor gets into a question that sits right at the heart of travel sales.
Relationships matter. They build trust, open doors, and make it easier to do business with someone over time.
But they can’t carry a bad product forever.
Ultimately, clients still need the trip to work. They need the right programme, the right support, and confidence that what was promised will actually be delivered.
Maybe the strongest businesses aren’t choosing between relationships and results at all.
They’re building the relationship because they deliver the result.

Can online ever replace what happens when people sit across a table from each other?
In Episode 9 of The Travel Disruptor, Dylan Lall, Uma Somia, and Claudio Torti get into one of the biggest tensions in travel sales right now: the need to scale digitally without losing the relationships the industry has always been built on.
Trade shows came roaring back after COVID for a reason. A LinkedIn message can start a conversation. A website can generate a lead. AI can help find and qualify opportunities.
But trust often moves faster face to face.
That doesn’t mean digital loses. It means the smartest travel businesses probably need both: technology to create reach and efficiency, and people to build the kind of confidence that gets complex business over the line.
Episode 9 of The Travel Disruptor asks whether we can ever build the same trust online that we build in person.

Holding onto the last few memories of summer in Ljubljana ☀️
Blue skies, castle views, quiet streets, a few wonderfully odd discoveries, and the kind of little details you only notice when you’re not rushing from one landmark to the next.
These are often the moments that stay with travellers longest. Not necessarily the headline attractions, but the funny sign, the unexpected museum, the flowers spilling over a wall, the street you nearly walked past.
Summer may be slipping away, but Europe still has plenty of stories left in it.

Travel Europe differently.
That doesn’t have to mean making things more complicated. It can simply mean building programmes with better pacing, better seasonal timing, stronger local character, and experiences that feel less obvious and more memorable.
For agents and tour operators, the opportunity is not just to sell Europe again. It’s to shape Europe and the UK in ways that feel fresher, more distinctive, and better suited to what clients actually want now.
That’s where we come in.
At Europe Incoming, we help create thoughtful, well-planned programmes that go beyond the usual and still run smoothly from start to finish.
If your clients are looking for a different way to experience Europe, let’s talk.
We know Portugal.
Colourful cities. Atlantic coastlines. W**e country. Historic neighbourhoods. Food worth travelling for. And routes that can move easily from culture to coast without feeling overpacked.
Portugal gives travel partners plenty of flexibility, whether the brief is Lisbon and Porto, a slower journey through the Douro Valley, time on the Algarve, or a broader programme connecting different regions.
The difference is in how it’s put together.
Smart sequencing, realistic timings, and dependable coordination help turn a good itinerary into one that feels effortless for the traveller.
That’s the kind of Portugal we like to build.
We know Romania.
Castles, mountain towns, winter landscapes, historic cities, and routes that still feel full of discovery.
Romania gives travel partners plenty to work with, but the real value comes from shaping it properly. Smart sequencing, realistic timings, dependable suppliers, and local coordination can make the difference between a trip that looks good on paper and one that actually flows.
From Brașov and Transylvania to cultural cities, countryside routes, and winter programmes, we help build Romania itineraries that feel well-paced, practical, and memorable.
We know Croatia.
The kind of destination that makes itinerary-building dangerously easy.
Coastal cities. Island-hopping. Historic old towns. Clear water. Long lunches. Scenic drives. And enough variety to build everything from relaxed leisure programmes to more complex multi-stop journeys.
The trick is knowing how to connect it all properly.
At Europe Incoming, we help travel partners shape Croatia programmes with the right routing, pacing, suppliers, and on-the-ground support, so the experience feels as effortless as the destination looks.
Luxury travel isn’t about piling on more.
It’s about knowing what matters to the person in front of you.
In Episode 7 of *The Travel Disruptor*, Dylan Lall and Monica Balli talk about the difference between simply knowing a client’s preferences and actually understanding them.
AI can remember what hotel someone booked last time. It can track dining preferences, suggest destinations, and make planning faster.
But luxury service often lives in the subtler things.
Knowing when to offer an alternative. Knowing when a plan needs more flexibility. Knowing when to step in, and when to quietly make something happen behind the scenes.
That kind of judgement comes from experience, relationships, and paying attention.
