Excited to announce that I'll be performing as part Mischievous Misappropriators at Shadowlands. This is my little super group with American composer Carl Stone and British musician Vicki Bennett (People Like Us).

"First brought together for ‘Carl Stone at 70’ at London’s Café Oto in 2023, together the three form a particularly mischievous alliance. Mischievous Misappropriators is less a conventional collaboration than a meeting of ears, instincts and obsessions. Each artist arrives with their own history of bending, borrowing and transforming sound, but the real excitement lies in what happens when those approaches collide."

This is in addition to my set with Githead already announced.
This is going to be such an extraordinary festival.

In between there's Atom Heart, Lusine, Terry Riley, Organum, Bass Clef, Felix Kubin & Asmus Tietchens and much more, ably hosted by yours truly.

"In many ways, both Boddy and Rimbaud operate in different sound worlds, but such diversity is often the catalyst for the best form of musical collaboration. The nine tracks on the album gently oscillate between hypnotic cycling patterns and nebulous, ambient soundscapes. The music plays as a continuous suite of tracks, which segue into each other and create a dream-like journey that constantly shifts the listener’s focus. Interspersed with field recordings from old houses and reverberant cellars, as well as Rimbaud’s signature radio chatter, the music is both abstract and emotive. One week until London Interzone, where I will present the premiere of a new work using unheard, unreleased tapes of William S Burroughs

Super happy to have my third feature in the latest issue of Sound on Sound magazine, this time celebrating the work of British musician Mark Fell.

Emerging from Sheffield's fertile experimental scene and first gaining recognition through the influential duo SND, Fell has consistently explored the relationships between computational processes and human perception.

His work resists easy categorisation, in that it can be deeply mathematical yet unexpectedly playful, conceptually demanding yet physically engaging, revealing how technology is never neutral but always carries its own aesthetics and politics.

It was wonderful to chat with him, and learn about his early enthusiasm for The Human League, working in the duo SND and his many collaborations. After several hours of conversation, one thing became abundantly clear: Fell has never been interested in technology for its own sake. Every synthesiser, algorithm, programming language or piece of software offers different questions—about sound, perception, culture and the systems that quietly shape the way we create.

His career stands as a reminder that innovation rarely comes from chasing the newest tools, but from challenging the assumptions embedded within them.

I'll be performing on Friday 4 September, using unreleased William S Burroughs recordings, whilst Saturday 5 September features exclusive performances from Adi Newton's The Anti Group (TAGc) with contributions by Stephen Mallinder of Cabaret Voltaire. Plus John Gosling (Zos Kia/Psychic TV/J*z), Isabelle De Jour (J*z) and Jill Westwood (Fistf**k).

I'll be around all weekend so look forward to meeting everyone and sharing in this celebration.
