Theme of the month: self discovery ❣️

May felt like I didn’t have a sense of direction but now looking back, I’d say Im still figuring things out and experimenting. The sun being out helped me get out of the house though.

Ever wondered where your clothes go after you donate them?

I revisited this editorial piece which explores an observation I’d noticed when visiting Kenya in 2023/24. More people in rural areas that I visited were mainly wearing Western garments. This has always been the case for most of my life but this time I was recognising more recent fast fashion designs being worn. What got me most was seeing so many Justin Bieber’s smiley faced ‘Drew’ shirts worn in rural areas and it got me thinking ‘Where did they get these clothes from?’ This then led me down a rabbit hole on how the rise of fast fashion and overproduction is affecting African countries like Kenya.

So the aim for the piece was to show the nuances of all this, how massive amounts of unwanted clothes are being exported to these countries and the environmental consequences that live alongside affordable clothing and income for thousands of people.

This topic means a lot to me and I’d like to bring awareness to this, so I’ll be writing more about it on substack soon. watch out for updates 👀✨

This bank holiday weekend was a dream 🌞 The vibes were sensational 👌🏾 And I did my first mural ever, which I’m so proud of. I was literally learning as I went along and doing it alongside experienced muralist was so much fun.

lovely to have done a market with for the first time 🥰 I got to debut 2 new prints which all sold well and have new homes in Germany 😊 (wasn’t expecting that)

It was meant to rain but thankfully it didn’t until the end of the day. Thank you so much to everyone that stopped by my table and to my family and friends who came to support. Love you all 🫶🏾✨

It was my birthday last weekend! Idk why but I now get the birthday blues so I guess my plans for next year will be crying 😂😭 But fr though, I took some time to reflect on the year and it’s been a blessing. Life feels like it’s moving so quickly but I’m excited and grateful for another year. Thank you for all the messages as well ❤️

My motto of the year is “Go where you’re loved” and that’s what I felt at . Thanks again to everyone that stopped by, including my cousin that I haven’t seen in 15 years 😭 I left feeling so blessed.
