Relaxed networking for start-ups and established businesses.

Synergy is about connecting with other businesses on a deeper level so we provide different questions each month and have structured moves to maximise the people you speak to.

01/10/2026

Networking is more than generating leads. For larger businesses, it can be a practical way to support staff development.

Regular attendance at a structured Synergy Business Group gives team members the opportunity to practise:

• communicating clearly with different people
• building confidence in professional conversations
• developing stronger relationship-building skills
• listening, asking better questions and responding thoughtfully

Because the environment is welcoming and guided, staff can build these skills through regular practice : without the pressure of public speaking or awkward mingling. Over time, that confidence can support stronger customer interactions, teamwork and professional relationships.

Join us at The Granville, Canterbury, on Tuesday 20 October 2026 at 10:30am. Our Canterbury Business Group takes place on the third Tuesday of each month.

Networking tip: ask each team member to choose one communication skill they would like to practise before attending. A clear focus makes every conversation more valuable.

Bring a colleague or team member and experience a more supportive, structured way to network. Find out more at synergynetworkingevents.co.uk

Your business story doesn’t need to sound like a sales pitch.

In a networking conversation, try this simple structure:

• The problem you see
• The work you do
• The difference it makes

Keep it short, specific and conversational. The aim isn’t to explain everything. It’s to give the other person a clear, memorable understanding of who you help and why your work matters.

For example:
“I noticed that many growing businesses struggle with [problem]. I help by [work], so they can [difference].”

Then pause and invite them into the conversation.

At the Kent Business Summit on 30 September 2026 at Orida Hotel, Maidstone, our guided conversations will give you a natural place to practise telling your story, without the pressure of public speaking or forced pitching.

We’re pleased to be joined by our confirmed sponsors: Orida Hotel, IT Manager Services, HR Consulting Kent and Freed Accountancy.

A warm first impression isn’t about having the perfect introduction. It’s about making the other person feel comfortable, heard and valued.

At a business event, focus on four simple shifts:

Approach: Open with a genuine question rather than launching into a sales pitch.

Listen: Be curious about their answer and ask a thoughtful follow-up.

Energy: Bring a positive, present attitude. People remember how a conversation felt.

Follow-through: End with one clear next step, whether that’s connecting on LinkedIn, sharing a resource or arranging a further conversation.

The Kent Business Summit is designed to make this easier. Our guided networking format reduces the pressure of first impressions by giving you structure, focused conversations and clear discussion prompts: with no public speaking required.

Join us on 30 September 2026 at the Orida Hotel, Maidstone, for a more relaxed and purposeful way to build professional relationships.

We’re pleased to be supported by our four confirmed sponsors: Orida Hotel, IT Manager Services (ITMS), HR Consulting Kent and Freed Accountancy.
