Sadly, the Barn Dance has been cancelled this year. Please see details below from the organisers Friends of St Mary's Lenham

BARN DANCE CANCELLED: It is with the utmost regret that we must inform you that this year’s Barn Dance has been cancelled.

There has been very little interest in the dance this year and ticket sales have been extremely minimal. We were very reluctant to make this decision but seem to have been left with no choice but to take the unfortunate step of cancelling the dance. The event has been enjoyed by so many people young and old over the last ten years and it has always been a wonderful fundraising event for us, with those funds really assisting in our ability to maintain St Mary’s. However, it was not to be this year!

We’re extremely sorry that this sad news will be a disappointment to those who have bought tickets. There are two ways to receive your refund:

Come along to the coffee morning at St Mary’s on Saturday 19 September between 10.00 and 12.00. Our treasurer Jan Enever will be there and will provide your refund on presentation of your tickets

You can email us on [email protected] with your name and ticket numbers and we’ll make arrangements to get your refund to you

Once again, we apologise for any disappointment that this news will cause. Rest assured we remain committed to our work to look after the wonderful St Mary’s building and will certainly be looking at alternative fundraising events that we can hold.

Best wishes,

Andrew Barr, Chairman

What can we say about yesterday, the final day of the three-day Green Room Concerts Festival? It was simply brilliant!

From 11am, we were treated to Alistair McGowan and his wonderful 3-in-1 performance. His poetry and mimicry cleverly took us through an assortment of emotions, but who knew Alistair could play the piano... and can he play the piano!

There was lots to enjoy throughout the day, with classic cars gathering for the ‘Meet’, while food vendors served great coffee, cakes, burgers, w**e, b**r, c***r, cheese platters and much more. People relaxed and socialised while, mainly the boys, chatted enthusiastically about car parts!

Meanwhile, in the background, rehearsals for the evening's performance were taking place inside the Tithe Barn, drawing curious visitors in to see what was going on. Little did they know that some of the finest musicians were in the house, led by Steve Ridley, alongside two huge names from Musical Theatre, Alice Fearn and Oliver Tompsett.

And what an evening it was!

A huge thank you to Green Room Concerts for bringing yet another wonderful program to Lenham with this year's Festival including Alice Fearn and Steve Ridley and all the Encore Musicians. 👏👏
